Dennie Kids: September 1, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • How many pictures do you think we took in the month of August?   a) 861   b) 1193   c) 1742    Remember, we didn’t travel anywhere in the month of August!  The answer is at the end of this post!
  • A lazy morning with everyone (but Mom) staying in their pajamas
  • Watching a few movies, watching Mom pack, reading stories, working in our workbooks, finding lots and lots of squares for Reagan’s homework and even having spaghettios for breakfast (yes, breakfast)
  • Finally putting on our clothes just in time to go and meet Dad at Cantina Laredo.  Reagan used the best manners ever-Mom had given them the “good behavior is required speech”  Campbell sat in a high chair and busied herself by smiling, playing with her napkin and watching everyone eat.  Graham finished off a bowl of salsa without complaining about the spice except one time when he looked at Robby and said “that spicy, Daddy”
  • Anderson enjoyed watching the comings and goings at the restaurant.  They sat us right by the front door.  Whenever we eat out, it seems that families are often sat in the very back or in the very front.  It is like they are trying to hide us or leave us near the door so we will live quickly!
  • English was our waiter’s second language, so Reagan and Dad had to ask Mom a few times what he had said.  Reagan didn’t ask as discreetly as Dad did!  All of the kids had wide eyes as they watched him prepare our dessert at the table-steam was coming from the sauce of the pie.  It kind of scared Graham because he didn’t even try his!
  • Home for bed and that is when Anderson’s day just fell apart.  Mom wouldn’t give him a second cup of milk and he started having a meltdown.  He only calmed briefly when Mom said she was going to call Dad and have him come home.  Anderson asked “will he come home” and Mom assured him that Dad would come home to take care of him.  Thankfully, Anderson finally went to sleep and calmed down.  He did have to go to bed first tonight and he was also lucky because Dad forgot to spank him (as promised)
  • A quick movie and then heading to church.  It was the Awana kick off night and the kids enjoyed getting back into eating supper at church.  And they especially enjoyed, jumping on the jumpys for a long time.  Reagan and Anderson got so hot that they wanted to come in and get some water!
  • Well, you probably guessed it.  We took 1742 pictures in the month of August.  That comes out to just over 14 pictures of each kid every day!  Whew, we are going to need another closet just for picture albums!

Wow - that is a lot of pictures! I bet it takes forever to go back through & choose pictures to print or put on albums, whatever you do with them. Enjoyed the video of Graham.
