Dennie Kids: October 6, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • Back to reality and we managed.  Everyone slept very well and Graham didn’t even end up in our bed.  Graham did wake up still wearing his belt that Nonna had given him last night and his baseball hat-tonight he has gone to bed with his sticker from church on.  Reagan slept the longest but was up in time to get ready for the doctor.
  • Nonna meeting us at Dr. Martins for a checkup for Reagan and Campbell.  Reagan just looked dumbfounded when Martin asked her questions-she just looked at me and barely shook or nodded her head.  She gets so shy sometimes!  She did fail her vision so we will have to go and check that out.
  • Campbell did well at her appointment.  Martin did say that she better start putting weight on her legs pretty soon!  I guaranteed that we would be walking by Christmas.  We better get started!  She did show me her head growth chart-I think that we were even greater than the 110th percentile-so intelligent!
  • During all of this, Graham just sat on the floor.  He didn’t really move or talk!  Now the other boy was being a pistol.  Anderson spent his time rolling around on Martin’s stool banging it and himself into the walls.  He was sitting on the table when Martin was examining Campbell.  He tried to hold Campbell’s head open for Martin to look in and kept telling the baby “open she mouth, open she mouth, she won’t open she mouth, guess she doesn’t want to”  Martin did say that Skelley mentioned how bad Anderson was and that she was on the verge of admitting him-eeek!
  • Coming home and the kids playing with all of their toys.  They did enjoy watching Campbell-I would lay her on her tummy and she can scoot back and end up in a sitting position.  She played with the big kids until she fell asleep
  • Dad coming home for lunch and the kids had been busy cleaning up the house for when he arrived-the cleanness didn’t last very long.  After lunch, we read books in the tent and then laid down for a nap
  • Reagan and Mom did their reading book for a little bit and then Reagan finally laid down for a bit-don’t think she ever went to sleep though.  I soon had to get everyone up and start putting on shoes for church
  • I heard Reagan yelling “Mom” but since I was in Graham’s room I ignored her until I heard her wailing.  I came running down the stairs and saw her standing with her little nose just dripping blood.  She calmed down pretty soon and thankfully, she was standing on the wood floor and not on my rug…though I do need a new rug.
  • Cubbies tonight-Graham just walked right into his class.  He did see Mom and Dad in the hall and as he turned the corner to walk back to class with his teacher, he had the most pitiful look on his face.  Campbell went to her class without a fuss and Anderson and Reagan were ready to get into the swing of things again.
  • Coming home for milk and brushing teeth and then going to bed!  The kids are still pretty tired…and so are we.
