A House Full of Kids!
Highlights from today: (Click here for pictures)
  • Keaton only woke up once last night but Graham and Campbell were looking for the baby and joining us in our bed at 6:30.  We tried to get them to go upstairs to play and somewhere along the way, Anderson joined them.  They did play upstairs a bit but then ended back in our bed-so Robby grabbed the blanket and laid on the floor and soon I was beside him and soon thereafter they had followed us to the floor.  So we moved to the bed to be followed by them again.  Such a big house now but everyone still loves to be right (and I mean right) where we are.  I guess that is a good thing though-too soon they will be in their own little houses probably spread across the country.
  • Robby took Keaton to work for a bit this morning to show her off and to prove that he was superdad (though that would have really been proven if he would have taken all 5).  Keaton enjoyed all of the attention and was doted on most of the morning.  She even got to stop and see Grannymom and Dana since she needed a bottle stop while they were out and about.
  • Campbell has gotten a bit used to spending the morning out and about with Robby and she was quite upset when he left without her.  She cried for a long time and was not really happy until we went outside today.
  • While I had my shower this morning, the boys watched a movie and Reagan decided on her own to go to the school room and started on her work for the day.  By the time I was dressed, she was mostly finished and had even done her math (which she usually saves for last).  Her motivation today was the playdate crew coming at 10:30 and the last of her work boxes-which was a nature walk.
  • Once she finished, we headed outside for the nature walk.  We walked down the "trail" as Anderson calls it.  Kind of funny to have a trail in your yard.  We had magnifying glasses and Reagan had her clipboard with paper on it to write down fall things that she saw.  She was so proud of how official she looked and said that she wished that Robby could see her.  Everyone but Campbell got the hang of the magnifying glasses-Campbell just used hers to beat what ever we were looking at-like the granddaddy long legs that she beat until she killed it.
  • As soon as we were done with our walk, the playdate crew started arriving.  Kennedy, Noah, Lilly, Eden, Caroline and Alyssa Kate all came and they all enjoyed playing on the swing set, in the dirt (gasp!) and swinging on the horse.  After playing outside for awhile, the kids all eventually went inside to play before lunch and then we painted a fall tree.
  • Robby came back with home with Cash and Grandpa.  Grandpa and Robby worked on a shelf and Cash made the first deer sighting.  He was swinging on the swing set and a deer ran from the front yard to the back yard and it went  between the house and swing set.  Jodee was inside and saw the deer and then we looked at Cash's surprised face and could tell that he had seen it too.  His eyes were so big and his mouth was open.  Robby saw it go past too and apparently it was going fast.
  • After our playdate company left, we put Campbell to bed and the others watched a bit of a movie before going back outside.  They played on the swings while Robby raked.  Soon I was calling them in for quick showers before we headed out again.
  • We had to take Cash home and as we were walking towards to van to all go together to take him home and then back past our house for our get together tonight.  But Robby remembered that we had no room for Cash so the boys just took him home while the girls waited here.
  • Tonight the kids played on Brett's and Laine's playground, had supper and played inside.  Unfortunately, Graham is terrified of Chad and just about started shaking when he arrived.  Even though it was mostly because he hadn't had a nap it was still pitiful.  Though, by the end of the evening, Graham gave him a huge hug and all seemed well.  Before that though, Graham wouldn't even stay in the same room that he was in and would run past him to go to the next room.  All of the kids enjoyed playing dress up and Keaton didn't even need to participate in that because she already had on her camouflage outfit.
  • We made it home by 10ish and as we were unlocking the door the boys were saying that maybe there were robbers in our house.  Where do they get these things?  We assured them that the alarm had been on and there were no robbers and all was well.  After milk and pajamas everyone was tucked snuggly in bed.  A long yet wonderful day.
