Dennie Kids: November 1, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • School day for Reagan-she had her two pieces of jelly toast in the car with Dad on the way
  • The pirates and Campbell stayed home with Mom.  They helped Mom work in the garage and tried on Dad’s costume.  Then the crew helped clean the bathroom-Anderson is a pretty good mirror cleaner and Graham is a very good sprayer (good thing Mom just gave him a sprayer filled with water)
  • Graham starting off the morning in big boy underwear-and it didn’t last long!  Two pairs, cleaning the carpet, picking poo off the floor and then it was back to a diaper.  He is getting there but not quite ready.  Mom does need to work harder at it though.
  • Mom had to keep both eyes on Campbell today because she was quite the crawler-she chased the boys down the upstairs hallway once.  Mom had to throw what she had in her hands down to grab her before she went a tumbling
  • The boys and Mom worked a puzzle.  Actually Anderson worked the puzzle, Graham scattered the pieces and Mom tried to keep Campbell from eating the pieces
  • Dad brought Reagan home and we all had lunch and then read a few stories before naptime.  We read the Gingerbread Man storybook and we decided that we would make gingerbread men for Christmas.
  • Playing outside for a few minutes.  Mom and Campbell were happily on the deck when Mom heard a blood curdling scream.  She expected that Anderson had fallen off of the tree house but it was only off of the swing.  He was fine-just shaken up.  One half of his face was pretty scratched up.  Graham was so worried about him.  He stood right beside him and kept asking “he okay?”
  • Reagan and Mom continue to work on her reading book.  The stories are getting much harder for her.  She can do it but isn’t too confident and then she gets in a hurry and just guesses.  This was today’s story:  He said, “can I eat cake?”  She said, “Go sit with the cow.”  He said, “no, I will not go.”  She said, “go sit with the cat.”  He said, “the cat has cake.”  She said, “go sit with the cat and eat cake.”  So he ate cake.  He said, “this is fun.”-No, it doesn’t make much sense and I think that she can only read this if it is written just like it is in this book but it is still pretty impressive how someone can learn to read.
  • Baths for all 4 little Dennies-they were so dirty the bath water turned brown!  Campbell loves the bath-absolutely loves it.  Everyone was ready (even if Campbell was back in pjs) and ready to go out to eat with Dad when he came home
  • Speed shopping through Kroger tonight.  We were so good that Dad gave us cookies when we came home.  School day in the morning-yuck!
