Dennie Kids: January 31, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)
  • A lazy Sunday morning since we didn't have to be at church until 11-we had played so hard that when we left the house was a wreck
  • Anderson going into Mr. Milan's class and he was irritated at Mom for picking him up, Reagan's Sunday night teachers were her teachers this morning which delighted her, Campbell was held the whole time during church and Graham seemed to have a good time as well-an overall good day at church
  • Lunch at Grannymom and Grandpa's house-soup and pie.  Playing there until naptime
  • Supper and then watching many, many more movies on the big screen-Dad said he was going to take it down tonight but everyone is enjoying it so much it may stay up
  • Graham asking to go to bed tonight and Campbell sleeping in Mom's lap until everyone else went to bed

Dennie Kids: January 30, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • Another snow day-Reagan and Anderson woke up at 7 and Mom woke Graham up at 7:45 when she checked on him (she was getting worried about him since he was sickly last night) and Campbell waking up at 8
  • Graham was feeling much better today-maybe a tiny bit of fever this morning but he was ready to play as soon as he woke up
  • Saturday morning waffles and then watching many, many more movies on the big screen
  • Today was Mom's turn to go outside with us but Dad even came out too for a little bit-we went sledding down the front hill!  What fun! Graham wasn't too sure about it but would let Mom put him on the cafeteria tray, Reagan did it but was so scared and Anderson would have slid down the street if we would have let him-no fear
  • Hot chocolate when we came in and then Dad headed out again to pick up lunch
  • More playing and movies until naptime
  • Supper and then decorating our snowmen and making "snow ice cream"-we didn't have enough real snow so we had to make our own.  We had to shake our bags for a very long time!
  • Playing a game (we didn't have enough time last night) with our hats and mittens
  • Giving the boys a little hair cut and then baths for everyone-Campbell woke up just in time for a bath and she surprisingly loves them

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • A winter weathery morning-not much going on.  Everyone laying in Mom's bed and then most of the crew moving to Anderson's bed while the rest played in his room
  • Breakfast-toaster strudels, cereal, a banana and breakfast burrito-seems like just about everyone had something different
  • Baths for everyone-Dad decided that the tub has become too small for three so two tubs were used today-until Graham used the restroom in the bath that him and Reagan were in.  Mom has never seen Reagan get out of the bath so quick.  So three Dennies still ended up in one tub while Campbell bathed in the sink
  • Taking Graham's 18 month pictures-can't believe he is 18 months old.  He is so smart and will do almost anything we ask.  If he can only stop that screaming!
  • Helping Mom make cupcakes before lunch-we did all settle on sandwiches for lunch
  • Lots of playing this afternoon while Dad escaped the house for a little bit-he had to go and buy the necessities (lots of diet coke, chips, salsa and a toy that Mom saw on sale yesterday-it will be for next Christmas)
  • Naps for everyone-even Mom and Dad took one!  Mom and Campbell had to start waking everyone up at 5
  • Graham, Reagan, Anderson and Dad playing outside in the sleet for a bit-Dad and Graham called it quits early since they were cold.  Campbell was eating so her and Mom watched from the window
  • Dad's spaghetti for supper and then starting our "Snow Family Night"-earlier in the day we had hung our snowflakes around the house go get us in the mood
  • Playing a few snow games-pin the nose on the snowman and a snowball race.  Then we decorated snowman cupcakes
  • The most memorable family night that we have had was movie night so once Mom said tonight was family night-they started talking about the movie we would watch.  Since a snuggling up watching a movie seems like a "snowy" thing to do, Dad set up the projector and we all watched a movie to end the evening (we even had more "snow" activities to do but may just finish them tomorrow)
  • Anderson's cough is almost gone but now Graham is feeling a little under the weather tonight-a little bit of fever with an upset stomach but he is sleeping fine now

Dennie Kids: January 28, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • A much better night than the night before-Anderson slept fine and coughed little.  He did wake up around 6 screaming that his tummy hurt and when Dad came in his room he said "lay down by me."  He was fine after that-still coughing but much less
  • Reagan taking her homework back to school and Anderson having to take mittens to school-Mom thinks this school stuff is getting complicated
  • Campbell shopping with Mom all morning long-she sleeps so well in her car seat and didn't wake up until we made it home (Mom was doing a little couponing-look at what all she got!)
  • Picking everyone up.  Mom was just a few minutes early and she even got to participate in the monthly tornado drill.  Thankfully, Graham was still in class so Mom grabbed Campbell's carrier and followed Reagan's class along with Anderson-quite entertaining and chaotic
  • Graham asking to hold Campbell and while he was holding her he handed Mom her camera to take a picture of them
  • Anderson and Mom reading hundreds of books while Campbell ate, Reagan played upstairs and Graham screamed (he was mad at Mom for putting the gate in front of the stairs up)
  • Reagan singing/screaming "let it snow, let it snow" for what seemed like hours this afternoon-Mom is crossing her fingers for snow
  • Dad coming home and taking everyone to Chick-fil-a all by himself-he is very brave.  The kids were great and played until they were exhausted
  • Everyone coming home and following asleep quickly

Dennie Kids: January 27, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • A crazy night-Campbell eating at midnight, Graham screaming at 1 and ending up in bed with Mom (Dad strangely disappeared), Reagan having a bad dream at 3, (Dad reappearing after Graham to his bed), Campbell eating at 4, Graham waking up again at 6, Anderson trying to wake up at 6:15, Campbell eating again at 6:30 and the fire truck driving by at 6:45 that woke up Anderson and Reagan again
  • Nonna coming over while Mom and Graham went to the Nutrition Center
  • Graham holding on to his matchbox car the entire time we were at the Nutrition Center-it was a short visit so no brain lab and we were there less than an hour.  But he still fell asleep on the way home
  • A movie before lunch time and then the rest of the afternoon was spent playing hide n seek with Mom's sheets and comforter from her bed
  • Afternoon naps....well, Graham screamed for nearly an hour until he fell asleep, meanwhile Anderson had coughed until he had thrown up (on Reagan's bed, again on the carpet and again in the bathroom) and Reagan and Campbell slept through all of this!
  • Mom, Reagan and Graham going to church while Dad, Anderson and Campbell hung out at home.  Reagan loved Cubbies and especially the games and Graham almost didn't fuss at church but his teacher said he still had a good day.  Anderson asked to go to bed once for his nap (which he missed) and then went back to sleep before Mom came home
  • Mom waking Anderson up to join Reagan in eating some ice cream while Dad put Graham to bed

Dennie Kids: January 26, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • Campbell has just been waking up one time each night lately but Graham still woke up very early this morning-he wakes up mad as he can be but calms down when he gets in bed with Mom and Dad and drinks his milk
  • Baths before school for everyone (except Campbell) and then bananas and grapes for breakfast
  • Dad and Reagan talking about vowels on the way to school.  She is really been into spelling lately and has taught Anderson to spell his name (she works with him at night while they are in bed)
  • A big day at school-Anderson making marshmallow snowmen for snack, Reagan getting to pull things out of the letter bag and Graham seeing Anderson during the fire drill (Anderson said that he said "hey Graham" when he saw him
  • Driving around the new Target on the way home (we do every school day) but this time there were lots of workers and construction vehicles to watch
  • Reagan doing her homework as soon as we came home, then everyone reading magazines, playing a game, working in our workbooks, watching a movie and coloring pictures
  • Anderson writing his name for the first time (Mom helped with the E and Reagan helped with the R)-Mom didn't even know he could write any letters except A and O
  • Nonna and Pops coming over to play while Mom and Dad went out to eat.  Pops brought our supper and Nonna came over right after work.  We played and played.  We even played so much that Graham didn't want to go to bed and decided that he should get up and play with everyone else
  • Everyone going straight to bed after Nonna and Pops left-Mom and Dad never heard anyone make a peep-they were tired!

Dennie Kids: January 25, 2010

  • Dad helping Mom get everyone ready this morning-we had to pick up Grannymom and head to the Wonderplace
  • Campbell sleeping the entire time at the Wonderplace, Graham loving playing in the water, Anderson's favorite was "everything" and Reagan loved the grocery store.  Note the pictures of Anderson's head: that is what happens when you accidentally por blue sand on your head

  • Reagan, Graham and Campbell hanging out with Dad-Graham and Campbell had long naps and Reagan ate lots of candy, colored and watched a movie
  • Paninis for lunch and then naps but Reagan never went to sleep, Graham woke up after a few minutes, Campbell needed her milk and spit up down Mom's sleeve and Anderson had a great long rest
  • Eating supper at Chick-fil-a.  Anderson was delighted to see his friend Mr. Greg there.  Mom and Dad ate with Greg and Debby and then Mr. Greg played with the kids and they all had a blast!  Anderson asked if we could come back here and have Mr. Greg come too
  • Coming home and changing into our pajamas.  Anderson's shirt is not too small but the neck is a little snug.  Dad was trying to take it off and it was clearly stuck.  Anderson came to Mom and Mom and Dad worked on it.  By this time Anderson was in tears and Mom and Dad were still pulling at his shirt.  He shouted "if it doesn't come off, what am I going to do? what am I going to do?"  Mom and Dad had to stop pulling since they were laughing so hard.  After it came off, Anderson suggested that Mom sell the shirt.
