April 10, 2026-Maumelle with the Rock Creek Campers

(Click for today's pictures)

  • Robby and I slept wonderfully well last night-Marley didn't even stir until after 9. She really does wake up at home when she does because it gets so bright in our room. In the camper, it is so dark that she had no idea that it was really time to wake up. We could have let her bark for a few minutes, and then she probably would have gone back to sleep.
  • Back at the house, there was not a whole lot happening even when we woke up. Graham did wake up decently early for a teenager on a no school day and did some running-he also ran tonight too. Campbell and Graham had work this afternoon, and then Campbell left to babysit. She is actually still babysitting-I didn't think it would be this late especially since she has the ACT tomorrow.
  • Robby and I had breakfast at the Wilson's campsite. Robby made some pancakes to go along with Tony's breakfast. Then we walked the puppies on a quick loop around the campground.
  • Around 2 maybe, Robby and I left to go and walk Pinnacle Mountain's Base Trail. Walking this trail had been on my to do list for a while. I had thought about coming and doing it when Graham and Keaton hiked the mountain a few weeks ago (I'm glad that I didn't because they would have had to wait on me.)
  • It was quite a trail. It said that it was 3.5 miles, but our watches just said that it was a little less than 3 miles. We had assumed that it was going to be fairly flat, but it was fairly rocky. The elevation gain wasn't much, but we had to continuously watch where we were stepping making it more difficult. It was a nice walk in the shade and even with a cool breeze so it was perfect.
  • We came back to the campground, and while Robby rested I sat outside with Shannon reading and crocheting. Soon it neared supper time, and while I didn't count, it was maybe close to 40 or 50 people. We had baked potatoes and bbq which were super yummy.
  • Around 9, Robby brought me home-the dogs rode with us. We brought a few things home, and while he was there Robby took a shower. I straightened a few things, and made sure that Whitman and Keaton headed to bed. Now, I'm just waiting on Campbell to make it home so I can go to bed.
