  • This morning we did the school thing-Tuesdays are a bit slower since Graham and Campbell don't have to think about hurrying for work. Whitman never hurrys-today, I told him that I really wanted him to be finished by 5, and he really couldn't understand why it would matter if he was done by 5. (It was a little bit after 5 when he did finish.)
  • Campbell was the only one, other than Robby, who left the house today. She went to babysit-it was just one kid so only Campbell went. She did well, and when she came home, she told me the amount of money that she made all month, and it was pretty impressive.
  • This afternoon I worked on the camper for a little bit-Robby had brought home a mound of groceries which I organized in the camper. I also did some math and history planning for school.
  • Robby and Campbell brought home supper-chicken and fries from Walmart tonight which we all stood in the kitchen around the bar and devoured.
  • Campbell's friend came over to get her nails done this evening, and soon after that Graham left for his ACT class. I am anxious to hear about what he learns in his class when he does get home much later tonight.
  • For now, I'm settled in on the couch trying to decide if I want some hot chocolate tonight or another treat.

  • I have made our morning work a bit hectic-I keep finding wonderful things for Whitman, Keaton, and I to read and do in the mornings when we have our together time. I have a few things that we will soon finish so that will help, but right now I'm trying to cram 2 hours worth of work into just 45 minutes.
  • Of course I have added things because I'm not having to spend my own money this year, but I'm also adding things because I see how quickly these kiddos here will be grown and out of this house.
  • The kids all did their school work today-for some reason it took Keaton a bit longer than usual. That is going to happen some day because her and Campbell are doing 1 and 1/3 days of work each day so they can work on Thursdays.
  • Whitman was so incredibly productive last week because of his productivity app that he downloaded. He told me yesterday that he decided to delete the app-and I could definitely tell today since he finished school around 5. And yes, just as I keep adding things to our morning work, I'm adding things to his work as well, and he could finish sooner but he is so easily distracted plus he loves his breaks.
  • Campbell, for some unknown reason, seems to always finish her work really quickly. Graham has a shorter day today, but he was still able to finish most of his things-at least I hope that he did. Campbell and Graham went to work this afternoon.
  • While they were gone, Keaton had herself a nap, and Whitman did his school work. I worked some more on my blanket-I think that by next week I will be finished or at least by the end of October. And then I will be taking a break, possibly a very long break, from crocheting.
  • Robby ran some errands this afternoon. I made grilled cheese for the kids for supper, and when Robby came home he had some groceries to unload. Now, we are sitting on the couch for the rest of the evening with nothing to do...and that makes me so happy!

  • I was up before the sun this morning so I could start on Graham and Keaton's breakfast for their Sunday school classes. Actually, Robby was up before me-he did go to the kitchen to turn the oven on and get a few things out of the fridge.
  • I had gotten my monkey bread ingredients ready last night, so this morning I just had to throw everything in the pan and bake them. While they were baking, I made 5 pans of pigs in a blanket. Robby had bought enough ingredients that I could have made double that, but I probably should because not a single pig in a blanket was left over.
  • With Graham's tray of fruit, 2 monkey breads, case of water, case of propel drinks, and pan of pigs in a blanket along with Keaton's pigs in a blanket, fruit, and cookies-we had to use a wagon to haul everything into church.
  • During big church, Reagan text saying that her car wouldn't start again this morning. The other day it wouldn't start and a friend jumped it. She was fine and wasn't worried at all about it, and Robby initially said that we would just deal with it Thursday when we go down there to camp.
  • However, after thinking about it during church, he decided that we would run a get a battery during Sunday school, and then go to Arkadelphia after that. It took us no time to get the battery and run home to pick up the tools. The new car from Jason is the same model so Robby was able to double check that he had the right tools.
  • We did swing by church on the way out of town so we could help the kids get the breakfast out of the church house. They were all staying during the afternoon to pack Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes-I think that after they ate pizza, the kids packed around a thousand boxes.
  • Robby spilled some monkey bread juice getting them to the car, most getting them into the church house, and Graham spilled even more getting then out of the church. By the time Robby and I were putting everything into the van after church, there was sticky monkey bread juice everywhere! Though we were thankful that there was some monkey bread left because we stood in the church parking lot having a snack-which, of course, made us stickier.
  • Ethan and Reagan met us at her car. He helped Robby with the battery some, and thankfully, after the battery was easily changed, the car started right up. Anderson came out to see us as well, so we were able to visit with everyone. I have seen them both since they have gone to school, but Robby has not so it was good to check in with everyone.
  • We visited for a minute, and then Anderson took all of the leftover waters and propels from Graham's breakfast while Reagan took the leftover fruit to her room. We took Reagan's car to get gas, and then returned it and headed back to Little Rock.
  • Back at home, Robby and I snoozed for about 45 minutes. Then we left with Keaton and Whitman and began our evening. Here is the quick run down of everyone's evenings:
    • We dropped Keaton off at her lifegroup.
    • We dropped Whitman off at his lifegroup.
    • Campbell and Graham drove to their dgroups.
    • Robby and I ran two errands.
    • We picked Campbell up from her dgroup.
    • Graham went to play pickleball.
    • We dropped Campbell off at a friend's house.
    • We picked Whitman up from his lifegroup.
    • We picked Keaton up from a friend's house.
    • We dropped Keaton and Whitman off at home.
    • We went to the Wilson's house to visit.
    • Graham drove himself home.
    • We picked Campbell up from her friend's house.
    • We all arrived safely back home for the evening.
  • After all of our stops tonight, I do have a few thoughts: 1. It was a bit of a crazy evening. 2. No wonder we are tired. 3. Robby now wants to get an electric or hybrid car.

September 27, 2025-Happy 14th Birthday Keaton!

(click for today's pictures)

  • We began this day by going to Raymar for football. Keaton could have asked for one of her brothers or sisters to take her place in the concession stand today, but she had Happy Birthday button on and was working hard for tips.
  • One man did give her a 20, so that, of course, made it all worth it. I think that she made around 35 dollars in tips-the birthday button sure did help. Whitman figured out that the tips were all going to the birthday girl today, so he pretty much checked out on helping except when we hollered at him to get us something.
  • While we were at Raymar, Robby ran some errands. He came back at the end to pick us up, and we headed to Nonna's house. Graham and Campbell met us there. Since we can't do Sunday lunch tomorrow, we moved it up to today and even made it birthday lunch-we celebrated Robby, Keaton, and Jason's birthday.
  • Nonna and Pops' had bbq plus she had made 3 different birthday cakes. I don't think that the birthday people would have fussed over their cakes, but they each had one so there was no squabbling. Nonna had made so much dessert that we took a good bit home with us.
  • Robby opened up some rain shoes and a few flashlights, Keaton had money and an outfit. She has another outfit from Nonna that is lost in the mail in Chicago. Jason also opened up some money plus a book and gift card. It was a pretty good birthday celebration.
  • Robby headed to Grannymom's house, Sams, and Walmart after lunch. I went home with everyone else, and then headed to Platos with Keaton. She needed a little bit of birthday shopping-she found a shirt, Campbell found 2 shirts (I bought one, and she broke her no spend September to buy the other one.) I even tried on three things there today, but nothing worked for me.
  • On the way home, Keaton convinced me to let her drive. I was in the big white van, but I pulled down the little street in front of ours and let her slowly drive home. She did fine, but I did keep repeating "keep your foot on the brake." We didn't need to be going too fast plus she wasn't too sure which was the brake and which was the gas. I figured if we didn't use the gas then that might be safer-and it was-we made it home safely with no yelling.
  • Robby made it home as we were crawling into the driveway. We helped him unload, and the girls helped me wash and get some fruit ready for tomorrow-Graham and Keaton are taking breakfast to Sunday school.
  • Then Robby and I crashed on the couch-Keaton's friend Collyn came over, but we still couldn't manage to get up. I did leave the couch first to take Campbell to babysit her Bauxite family. Then I met Robby, and we ran some errands before meeting the Wilsons to eat supper. We ate at the new Mexican restaurant, and it was very good.
  • Then we picked up Keaton and Robby's birthday Crumble cookies, and then I also picked up a very late supper for the kids at home. Keaton and Collyn had made cookies here so they weren't starving, but everyone did dig into tonight's chicken.
  • I prepped as much of tomorrow's breakfast as I could. I did have to send a panic text to Robby telling him that we needed butter-I had one stick, but we needed three so it was a butter emergency. He picked up some on the way home from getting Campbell, and they rolled in around 10.
  • Now maybe for a bit of sitting on the couch before bed after this busy day!

September 26, 2025

(click for today's pictures)

  • Robby left early this morning to go to his dgroup. I hit snooze on my alarm as long as I could, but then I did get up and walk 4 miles. That is quite a bit to walk in our little neighborhood because I have to walk up and down most of the roads 3 times.
  • When I was finished, I was pretty productive for a good little bit-then I didn't really do anything else for most of the day. Oh, I did some fun things: Campbell and I made scones when she woke up, I crocheted some of my blanket, and Whitman and I played a game late this afternoon.
  • After Campbell's scones were out of the oven-or at least the first pan, Campbell mentioned going to a little bakery stand down Lawson. It didn't take much to convince me-we found some cash and headed out the door.
  • We could have bought a few more things, but I'm not a big fan of pumpkin (they had pumpkin pie and pumpkin cinnamon rolls). Campbell did but a little candle plus we bought a molasses cookie. Campbell wanted to buy bread but neither of us had change or money in our Cash Apps for that. We will try Mother Vine Market soon.
  • When Campbell and Graham came home from work, Campbell was only home for a few minutes because we soon left with her and Keaton to take them to babysit. They worked until 11, and Robby and I did as well-we ran lots of errands tonight-our goal was to make more money than the girls (and we did!)

September 25, 2025

  • Robby took the girls to Mother's Day Out this morning while the boys and I started on school work. Whitman had worked ahead some, but he still took all day to finish what he had left. Once today, I text to ask him how much longer he had on his break, and he had forgotten to set his timer.
  • Another time today, he came downstairs from reading and said that he had paused his reading timer because he wanted to read more, and then he added, "and now it's 4!" I'm not sure how long he had been reading (which isn't a bad thing.)
  • Graham did his work, but his Spanish just takes a little bit of time every day. That's fine though since he didn't have to worry about going to work today.
  • I walked this morning, but I just couldn't motivate myself to walk again this afternoon. I didn't really do anything this afternoon except go and pick up the girls. They both had full classes today-it must be kind of tiring because as soon as Campbell went home, she went right to sleep. Then all during supper, she was still tired.
  • Tonight's supper was Whitman's. He made chicken tortilla soup which was good. However, it was a crock pot full so I will have plenty of leftovers to eat. Then he also made grilled cheese sandwiches-I even splurged and bought sourdough bread for him to use for his sandwiches. However, it wasn't very sourdough-ish tasting.
  • After we cleaned up supper, Robby and I sat down on the couch. I feel like I have already reached the end of the internet today now am I too interested in my book right now so I'm not too sure what I'm going to do for the rest of the evening.

September 24, 2025

  • I sure was hoping that it was raining this morning, but unfortunately it was pretty dry when I went on my walk this morning. We were a little worried about the hail last night that was predicted and even shuffled some cars around, but thankfully, the hail never came.
  • This Wednesday was a pretty calm day-Whitman had worked ahead so he didn't have much to do. And I hate to report, but he didn't work ahead today so maybe his extra productivity has worn off.
  • Graham was happy to see that he made a 100 on his essay in Freshman Comp. He also mentioned tonight that he wanted to find out about doing a business major at college, so we will find out more information about that. This discussion prompted Campbell to think about occupational therapy as a major. We were getting all of life's big decisions solved this evening. Not really, because I did keep telling everyone that it is ok to have a plan, but also ok to change your mind.
  • Keaton and I made scones today, and Whitman and I played a game. Campbell and Graham went to work for the afternoon. I also heard from Reagan today-she had received her care package. I haven't heard from Anderson in a few days, but I'm sure he is super busy with Tiger Tunes prep.
  • We had church tonight, and Graham opted to skip ChickFIlA and ride with me. Coming home from church on a Wednesday night is where you can get so much information from the kids-they talked the whole way home and then the talking continued at least another hour in the kitchen this evening.

September 23, 2025

  • This was a different day than I expected: the neighbor text this morning just as I was about to read to Whitman and Keaton. She just needed me to move the groceries from her front porch to her grandfather's front porch. That was fine, but it did put my a few minutes behind on school.
  • Since we are almost 1/4th of the way finished with the year, I have already gone through many of our books writing out how many pages we need to read to finish by Christmas or by May. This way I know how much to read each day, and even with our late start we were able to read what we needed today.
  • Whitman is still oddly working ahead. He has about 25 things on his list to do each day-some are short and some are not. Tomorrow he only has 4 or 5 things left. Even with him being finished with his school by noon, I still didn't get around to doing spelling with him today.
  • The reason I didn't make spelling happen is because I was gone a little bit longer than planned today. Campbell had wanted to get her hair highlighted, and today was the day that she chose. I knew it would take a while so after they started on her hair, I went to pick up shorts for Keaton and some yarn for me from the outlet mall.
  • Then I came back and watched for a little bit. It didn't take long for me to realize that it was going to be a while. I went to Walmart and bought a few things from our list and text Robby to tell him that my van's gas was near empty.
  • He met me at Walmart for gas, and then I went in the store with him to do a little bit of shopping. We zoomed through the list, and I then I hurried back for Campbell. When I arrived, I wasn't sure if I should bring my book in or not, but thankfully I did bring it in.
  • She was there for about 4 hours, but I guess for a cut and highlights that is maybe about the normal amount of time. It was worth it though because her hair is really cute, and she was pleased. I was barely home, and Graham was texting me about supper. I suggested pancakes, and he jumped on that idea.
  • When I walked in the door, I told Robby bye because he was leaving for a work dinner. Then I started on making pancakes and sausage. I fed everyone, and then I settled into my chair for some crocheting, reading, and even a little bit of hot chocolate.

September 22, 2025-Happy Birthday Robby!

(click for today's pictures)

  • This birthday morning Robby was up super early to take Campbell to babysit at 7:30 this morning. She stayed all morning long until Keaton came to relieve her so she could go to work. They made a pretty decent check, but Campbell worked all day long so she really did well today. (This is her no spend month, but right now she has plans to spent money tomorrow.)
  • I did the normal early morning school with Keaton and Whitman. Keaton had to quickly work on her things so she could be ready to babysit. Whitman had knocked out quiet a few things last night so he was finished with school and working with me by noon.
  • And after he ate his lunch, he went right back to working on his school work for tomorrow and the next few days. He has finished a good bit for Tuesday plus he has done things for Wednesday and Thursday. Not only has he done things to get ahead, but he has worked on the hardest of all of his things which are the things that he usually does last.
  • Campbell and Graham went to work this afternoon. While they were there, Whitman and I made Robby some birthday chocolate chip cookies. They were pretty good-we usually can't make cookies over here, but these were at least a B+.
  • Once Graham came home, he was home for a bit before we left again for his first ACT class night. He is taking a class to maybe improve his score-but if it doesn't improve his score, then we are fine with that too-it won't hurt him.
  • The class started at 7:30 and was supposed to be 2 hours but ended up being longer. Robby and I ran some errands while he was in the class and ended up picking up Robby's Starbucks birthday drink to bring home for the girls.
  • Campbell was making her supper when we made it home after 10, but other than that the house was pretty quiet.

September 21, 2025

(click for today's pictures)

  • We weren't moving as quickly this morning as we did last Sunday, but we were still able to get to church in plenty of time. Keaton and Campbell mentioned signing up to start greeting at the doors on some Sunday mornings which means we might have to start arriving even earlier.
  • After church we went to Grannymom's house were were ate some of Robby's favorite foods and began his birthday celebration. We also started Keaton's birthday celebration week-they both had presents from Grannymom and Dana. Robby received two stadium chairs while Keaton opened quite a few new clothes.
  • When we left Granmymom's house, Robby and I napped on the couch for about 30 minutes because we didn't have long at all. Then we took Keaton and Sophia to friend's house for a get together.
  • Robby and I ran a few errands until it was time for us to go to our Sunday school fellowship. We had a shrimp boil (corn, shrimp, sausage, brussel sprouts, potatoes). Now that is not my exact favorite type of food, but the potatoes and sausage was good-and of course the desserts were very good.
  • While we were there, Campbell and Graham went to Rock Creek for church. Then on the way home, Graham dropped Campbell off at home before going to pick up Keaton for us from her party. After our fellowship, Robby and I ran to the Wilson's house for a little bit for our Sunday night chat.
  • And let's discuss Whitman for a bit: Yesterday, I mentioned that Whitman had downloaded a productivity app on his phone. Well, today, he is going to town.  This afternoon he asked Robby if there was anything he could do to clean. Robby quickly thought of having him do a quick clean of the van.
  • Then while I was out tonight, he kept sending me messages showing me all of the school work that he has done. He has finished things for tomorrow and Tuesday-this is not really like him, but I hope that at least some of the initiative he is showing sticks.

September 20, 2025

(click for today's pictures)

  • I was awake way before my alarm rang before 7 this morning-it was still dark when I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. That was fine though because when my alarm did ring, I had already finished my phone time and was ready to wake up.
  • I woke up Whitman, and we left for Raymar first. Robby came a little bit later; followed by Graham for his first shift of the fall. Whitman so enjoys the concession stand, and it is so good for him-talking clearly to people, having to be polite, plus quite a bit of activity.
  • Robby left pretty early because he had quite a few errands to run in Hot Springs today. I told Graham that he could leave, but he ended up staying a bit longer to chat with a friend. Then on the way home, he had to stop and get gas-this was his first time to pump gas, and he did just fine even though he was a little stressed about it.
  • When Whitman and I made it home, he was pretty chatty so I sat on the couch and crocheted while I talked to him. He eventually went upstairs so I read some of my book-lately, when I do get in bed I am pretty tired and only have the energy to stare at my phone instead of hold a book and read, so my reading has greatly slowed down.
  • Nonna and Pops had to drop the girls off at their babysitting job this morning. As soon as the game was over, I got the texts saying "leave," "leave," and "leave now." I had already seen that Robby was on his way home, so he was close enough to pick them up.
  • He was home for about 10 minutes, and we left again. We headed back to Hot Springs to pick up Anderson's new car. Jason bought a new car and sold us his old car today in Hot Springs so it worked out that Robby met him, and they moved his old car so we could pick it up later.
  • We zoomed on back towards town from Hot Springs-but not too fast because police were out everywhere. Robby and I took the new car to the car wash and then spent a good bit of time cleaning the inside.
  • Afterwards, we ran a few errands, and Robby made a delivery on the way home. He just pulled into the driveway, and I hoped into the car. We went to the Wilsons for a bit of chatting. While we were gone, Keaton and Whitman hung pictures of themselves throughout the house, and Campbell hemmed a dress.
  • We made it home a bit after 10, and Robby has some work to do so I'm going to stay on the couch or possibly I'll be productive (probably not).

September 19, 2025

(click for today's pictures)

  • Fridays are super quiet around this house, and I really enjoy it...for a while. Then I get a little bit stir crazy. I tried a few times to wake up Graham around ten so he could do a few school things, but I'm not sure he ever got around to that.
  • Campbell and Graham left for work at 1. I had just pulled some sourdough bread out of the oven for Whitman, but they had to wait to have some until they came home since you aren't supposed to cut it when it is it hot.
  • I went on a walk this afternoon, and then Whitman and I made banana bread. I know that I set a timer for the bread, but I was in the living room talking to Keaton and told her that I was going to take a nap. I set my timer and laid my head down only to jump up shouting about the banana bread.
  • I ran to the kitchen hollering a google asking about a timer which it said that I didn't set. I jerked that bread out of the even and thought that all was good. I used a toothpick just to make sure it was done, but after a few minutes I sliced me a piece. It needed a few more minutes in the oven-it ended up it needed about 15 more minutes.
  • I'm not really sure what happened or how long the banana bread actually cooked. Whatever happened though, the bread was good and most of it is already gone.
  • Graham left tonight to go to a ballgame to watch a friend play football. He and another friend actually had shirts made with their friend's face on them. After the ballgame he stopped at Dairy Queen for a bit to eat.
  • It looks like it was a big night in Arkadelphia-Reagan and Anderson were both at Walmart this evening. I think they were there at different times, but maybe they ran into each other.
  • Robby and I went out to run some errands this evening. Robby said that he had to earn enough money to pay for supper and that we did-we even ate at Olive Garden plus we bought the girls and Whitman Sonic drinks on the way home.
  • When we did get home, they were super happy to see us...or possibly they were super happy to see those Sonic drinks.

September 18, 2025

  • Campbell and Keaton were off to Mother's Day Out this morning while that just left Graham, Whitman, and I at home working on school. Graham turned in an essay and worked on Spanish while Whitman steadily marked off his list of things to do.
  • I thought that I would be able to do a few more things this morning since neither of the boys need me that much, but I kept getting distracted by Whitman. If I am near him, then he can fly through most things-we even set a timer today for 10 minutes, and he zoomed through half of his math in that time.
  • I took my second walk with Bentley this afternoon-some days she is a good walker, but most days she is not. We barely made it down the driveway before I decided that I was ready to take her back to the house. I know she won't learn unless we practice, but really, does she even need to walk? I think she will be just fine sitting in her chair and looking out the window all day long.
  • I picked up Keaton and Campbell from work. They weren't too pleased about us going to Walmart on the way home until I told them that they could buy a few school supplies.
  • My main goal at Walmart was to buy a few things to send to Anderson. When we were visiting him this Tuesday, he mentioned that last year Reagan had received a lot more packages from us than he has. I took that comment as a challenge so his next box will be mailed Saturday, but I did get it all ready today.
  • Today was Keaton's turn to cook. She made Dorito chicken casserole along with salad and garlic bread. Whitman has already picked his meal for next week, so our kids cooking each week is going well. Though I'm worried how it will work next month when we are out of town almost half of the time.
  • After we ate, everyone migrated to their spots-Robby and I on the couch, Whitman in the bonus room, Keaton and Campbell in their room, and Graham in his room. I'm already pretty cozy on this couch so it may be difficult to get up in a little bit to make some bread for Whitman.

September 17, 2025

(click for today's pictures)

  • Wednesdays are a little bit busier around here-and today definitely was. Keaton went to babysit at 11 so she had to hurry to get her school work finished before she left. Then Graham and Campbell leave early for work on Wednesdays.
  • Once they were all gone, that just left Whitman and me home alone. Whitman and I are home alone together quite a bit lately. He took his time, but eventually did finish his school work. I was able to get a half of the kids' work ready for next week. And today, we finished 4 different books-1/4 of Whitman's science, 1/3 of Keaton's language arts, a book I was reading to Keaton and Whitman, and one more book which I have already forgotten.
  • This afternoon went by fairly quickly. Robby picked up Keaton, and she was pleased with the money that she had made babysitting. Once Campbell and Graham came home, we all headed to church.
  • Whitman was kind of dreading church tonight; he isn't a fan of Wednesday nights. However, he talked the whole way home about what they did in his class, so I think that he did indeed have a good time.
  • Campbell, Graham, and Keaton went to ChickFilA after church. Campbell is having "no spend" month-but she begged Robby for his change, found some more change, and even had 2 dollars on her gift card-so she was able to get a chicken sandwich.
  • Robby was the last one to come home since he was out late running errands and grocery shopping. Now, I'm a bit tired tonight-I guess Wednesday nights can do that!

September 16, 2025

(click for today's pictures)

  • This morning was a fairly normal day. We did school around here-Graham had a lot of Spanish, Keaton had a lot of everything, Campbell let it slip that she was behind in something so she will have to catch up on that, and Whitman didn't finish two things since we had to leave this afternoon.
  • Graham and Campbell had leftover ChickFilA for their lunch so they greatly enjoyed lunch. Whitman found some pizza so that is better than ChickFilA to him. and Keaton had leftover pasta for her lunch.
  • We had a bit of time this afternoon, but around 2:45 we loaded up to head to Nonna and Pops' house. There was picked them up and Grannymom before heading to Arkadelphia. We arrived about 30 minutes before I had told the kids that we would get there, but Anderson was in his room, so I dropped everyone off to see his room.
  • His room is big and impressive compared to Reagan's room last year. We stayed in his room for a while visiting and asking him a bunch of questions about school. So far, I think that he is truly is having a good time. He did say that he enjoys all of his classes.
  • We eventually walked over to Reagan's dorm. She was tutoring a kid this afternoon so she had to wait for them to be picked up before she found us. Then she took us on a tour of her room. It did help that both kids had had room checks today-their rooms were pretty clean.
  • After we had seen their rooms, we went just down the road to eat Mexican. It took a little bit longer than usual, but everything was really good-at least the chips and salsa were good. I didn't eat much food, but I had so many chips that I'm still a bit miserable.
  • While we were eating, it rained pretty good. However, when it was time to leave and say our goodbyes, the weather had cleared. Reagan and Anderson had to go back to school to start their Tiger Tunes practice soon.
  • The rest of us headed back towards home. We made it home just right after Robby arrived home. We reviewed our days and then ended up on the couch for the rest of the evening.

September 15, 2025

(click for today's pictures)

  • This school morning went very smoothly. Keaton left early to go and do some birthday shopping with Grannymom this afternoon so she didn't get to some of her school. However, she will finish that tonight-maybe.
  • Graham and Campbell zoomed through their work before they had to go work this afternoon. They received their first paycheck in the mail today plus they both got a 50 cent raise.
  • Whitman was the only one home this afternoon. I had a doctor's appointment so he pretty much finished his work while I was gone. We had a little bit of work to do together.
  • Robby came home in time for us to load up and pick up Keaton from church. Then we went to Raymar to work the concession stand during this evening's games.
  • Campbell and Graham came home from work and had some leftovers, and before too long the rest of us were home for the evening. There isn't too much time left in the evening so I'm not sure if I'm gong to read or crochet or nap!

  • Robby and I were both awake earlier than usual on this Sunday morning. I made muffins since we had at least 4 extra girls spending the night. On Sunday mornings, I am supposed to wake Graham up in time to take a shower in our shower. Usually, he has to scramble with little time to get ready because Robby and I haven't gotten up in time so our late showers cause him to have an even later shower. This morning though he had plenty of time.
  • When I went to wake up Graham and everyone else upstairs, Keaton came in and was awake along with the girls with her in the bonus room. Even though everyone was awake early, they were all eating breakfast right when it was time to leave.
  • After church we had a Sunday school meeting for Graham's class so we were there a little bit later than usual. Nonna and Pops were waiting on us for lunch We had pork tenderloin and delicious brownies for lunch...along with some other things. We visited for a little bit, but then we headed home for the afternoon.
  • Robby took our old mattress to Grannymom's house because they are supposed to come and pick it up tomorrow for her house. He then ran a few errands before swinging back by and grabbing Keaton to take her to her life group.
  • Campbell and Graham left next to go to their dgroups at the church house, and I dropped Whitman off next for his life group. I had about an hour at home all by myself this evening since Robby stayed out shopping-it was kind of nice!
  • Everyone really enjoyed their life groups or dgroups. When I asked Whitman if he enjoyed it, he said, "Oh, I had a really good time." He is not a huge Wednesday night fan so him liking a church thing is a big deal!
  • The Wilsons came over for a few minutes after we all made it home. We were able to get our Sunday night visiting in before the saddest part of the week-Sunday night.

September 13, 2025-Happy 14th Birthday (Party) Keaton

(click for today's pictures)

  • Campbell and I were the first to leave the house. We went to Raymar to work the concession stand for the football games this morning. Whitman and Robby came in the next car load. It had been so cold last week, that we were a little surprised that it was not just warm, but hot today.
  • Usually at Raymar it is cold-it can be hot everywhere else in the city, but at Raymar it is breezy and chilly, but not today. It was a little warm in our concession stand-poor Whitman had on a long sleeve shirt, and his cheeks were red all morning long.
  • Robby ran some errands while we were there; then he swung by and picked up Campbell up. They went to eat lunch with Grannymom. When Whitman and I left Raymar, we went to Walmart so I could buy more lettuce for these girls tonight (spoiler-we didn't need it). Also, Whitman has been wanting to run to the store to pick up candy for all of the birthday people this month, so he was happy to get to make a quick trip to Walmart.
  • I came home and after putting out chairs for Keaton's party, jumped in the shower and then painted my toenails. We weren't home for too long, but I did have time to shout out some chores to people-Graham had to go and see Annie twice and fold the last bit of laundry, Campbell had to make some lemonade, and well, Whitman wasn't around when I was passing out chores so he lucked out there.
  • Keaton went with us to a funeral, and she had people coming over at 4. We thought we would be home by then, but we sure weren't. Since Campbell was there, she entertained until we made it home.
  • I took Keaton and a few friends who came early to Crystal Hill to take pictures. Campbell was there photographer, and she really should think about doing the picture thing for some spare money. She did really well with the thousands of pictures that she took all evening.
  • We hurried back to the house so all of the party crew could arrive-I think that there were 16 plus Campbell's friend Laynie. Robby had hung lights this morning, and Keaton had a vision for the tables. Her friends and her made it happen, and everything looked really great.
  • They took pictures while I scrambled in the kitchen making two different pastas, salad, and heating up the bread. They ate, made dirty cokes, played a game, and currently they are painting picture frames.
  • They still have presents and cake left. My kitchen is clean, but the outside will have to be cleaned when this party is over which is still over an hour away. Plus there are at least 4 extra people spending the night tonight (both Keaton and Cambpell's people) so it may be a long and noisy night here so right now, I'm going to put my feet up on the couch for the next few minutes...just kidding it is cake time now!
  • There are about a thousand pictures to come, but I’ll add them to tomorrow’s post. I do have a few to give you an idea of the birthday blowout.

September 12, 2025-Happy 20th Birthday Reagan!

  • I certainly enjoy Fridays-I took my walk this morning, and when I realized that it was going to get pretty warm this afternoon, I decided that I better go ahead and take Bentley for her little stroll. Bentley made it a bit over a half of a mile today so that was a record for her. She walks so much better for me when we are camping, so maybe we need to go camping more often.
  • Most of the day, we spent getting things ready for Keaton's birthday party. Keaton kept saying that she had so many things for her party, but it wasn't really a lot until Robby came home with the groceries-then there really were a lot of things set out for her party.
  • Tomorrow will be a busy day so we tried to get everything as ready as we possibly could-there are still a few more things that I could have done today (make lemonade, cut the tomatoes, and hang lights) but that will all happen tomorrow hopefully.
  • I worked on my crocheting some this afternoon; it is a big project that I kind of have started to dread. However, I should be finished with it this month for sure. Campbell and Graham went to work this afternoon while Keaton made and decorated her cake.
  • When Campbell came home this afternoon, she was only home for a little bit before we left again to take her to church to keep kids tonight. We picked up Nonna and Pops on the way, and after dropping Campbell off we all went to eat at Riverside Grocery-it was fish night.
  • After we were full, we dropped Nonna and Pops off, and then we ran some errands until it was time to pick up Campbell. We were pretty busy during that time and barely made it to pick up Campbell on time.
  • We took Campbell home, and then we ran to the Wilson's house for a few minutes. We chatted with them, and then came home. It will be an early morning, but there are still a few more things to do around this house.

  • Campbell and Keaton left for Mother's Day Out this morning. Last week Campbell had an easy day, but she did not this week. She had twin criers in her class-they cried enough that reinforcements had to come in and help. I think that Keaton had a much easier day.
  • I had an easy day with Graham and Whitman only home doing school. Graham worked on an essay and took a Spanish test. He did good on it (I saw his answers), but by the last test of Spanish 2, he may be in trouble. I did finally get his textbook in the mail today so maybe that will help.
  • Whitman was super proud of himself when he had only 3 things to finish after lunch today-I was too. But then I still didn't have him do spelling with me until around 4, but that was mostly me. I even debated waited until tomorrow, but I persevered.
  • Robby picked up the girls this afternoon. Neither of them were home very long. Graham and Campbell left first to go and take pictures are Raymar tonight. This will be a big paycheck week for them. Then we took Keaton back to church to keep kids tonight-she and Campbell are already earning quite a bit of camp money.
  • Robby and I stayed out and ran some errands (for other people! ha!) while Keaton was at church. We briefly thought that we wouldn't be able to pick her up, so we had Graham and Campbell go home that way. However, we were there in plenty of time.

  • Lately, Wednesdays have been pretty calm, and today was a pretty perfect Wednesday. School went fairly well-Campbell and Keaton finished up their things for the week. Graham has a Spanish test and an essay to write soon so he has been working on those things. Whitman zoomed through a few things, and slowly worked through others-but he did get it all done.
  • For lunch today, I made grilled cheese sandwiches for everyone. Graham and Campbell like my homemade bread, while Keaton does not. Whitman only likes homemade bread if it is sourdough.
  • Graham went on a run after school and came back pretty sweaty. The weather was nice this morning when I walked, but I too came back this afternoon from my walk pretty warm. He didn't have much time to run today because Campbell and he had work this afternoon.
  • I'm not sure how busy they were this afternoon, but we were all busy here at the house. I'm working on my crochet blanket which is going to take a while to crochet together. When Campbell and Graham did come home, I turned right back around with Campbell and Keaton to leave for church.
  • We stopped at the library on the way, and then Graham and Whitman met us at church a bit later. I was in the first grade class this evening so it was much different than standing at the desk checking people in.
  • Campbell and Graham went to ChickFilA on the way home, and the rest of us stopped by there to pick up our nuggets on the way home. Now, Robby and I are on the couch watching the news and doing some computer work.

  • Out of all of our school mornings, I can say that this morning was our most hectic. There was really no reason for it to be hectic, and it really was only a bit crazy for about 30 minutes. However, for those 30 minutes everyone seemed to be asking me questions or needing something all at once.
  • Things did eventually calmed down, but Keaton and I had to leave this afternoon. I had thought having my doctor's appointment in the middle of the school day would make things hectic, but actually having an appointment in the afternoon through me for a loop.
  • Keaton had an eye appointment at 1:30. After she read the letters on the screen before the doctor came in, I was pretty sure she was going to need glasses. However, she did not-she does have a mild astigmatism for which we could get glasses, but it didn't sound like it was enough to matter.
  • We then ran to a few stores picking up a few things for her party before dropping something off at a friend's house. When we did come home, Whitman still had a decent bit of school. I baked my Tuesday bread, which turned out very well this time, while Whitman finished his school. It was after 5 when he and I finally finished his spelling
  • Tonight was Graham's supper night-he made mac and cheese and grilled burgers on the grill. It was all very good Next week is Keaton's turn to cook. After we cleaned everything in the kitchen, the girls went upstairs and started cleaning possibly-that was their plan when they left the living room.

  • I believe that this is our 5th week of school-that kind of makes my heart happy. Though I have been buying and buying things to add to our days, so we actually may never get finished this year. Our three new computers did get funded today, so that was a relief...and it means that I can start buying some more things!
  • School went fairly well this morning, but it was a bit hectic on my end because I had a doctor's appointment at 11. It was just a check up but to get the doctor that I wanted I had to go in the middle of the day which kind of makes school a little bit crazy, but we did manage.
  • When I came home, Campbell and Graham were getting ready to go to work-it was a long day because they not only had work, but then they also had pictures at Raymar to work. I worked with Keaton and then Whitman a little bit finishing up their school things.
  • Keaton went to babysit this afternoon. Campbell was not happy that Keaton was cashing on the baby sitting gig, but since she was also working it all worked fine. This just left Whitman and I home alone-I walked, I crocheted, I stared at Whitman until he finished all of his school. I was actually starting to get a little bored-now, don't get my wrong, there were plenty of things that I could do, but nothing that I wanted to do.
  • Graham and Campbell were the first ones to come home. Whitman was super glad to see them-possibly because they had pizza. We all had a bite to eat, and then Keaton text saying that her gig was up.
  • Robby was still out so he went to pick her up; she was not pleased that he was a little bit late. I'm currently watching Graham open up his new computer-he is acting like it is Christmas morning.

  • Sunday morning church this morning. Keaton had worship care, and we couldn't figure out where Campbell was during the first bit of the service. She had found a friend and was helping to be a greeter during the first few songs. We were about to send out a search party.
  • We had Sunday lunch at Grannymom's house. She had chicken alfredo which was delicious plus ooey gooey which is a favorite. We stayed and visited for a little bit before we ran to Walmart for me to pick up a few things for supper-actually, it was things for tonight's peanut butter pie.
  • As soon as we came home, I gave the girls' new drawers one more coat of paint. Then I settled in for my nap. I did wake up to Robby making his pies so I helped a bit. Then I tried to work on putting new knobs on the drawers, but Robby had to help me because I was certainly struggling.
  • After that was done, Robby left to take Campbell to church tonight. He stayed out and ran a few errands while he waited on her. that left me to cook Sunday night supper by myself-it wasn't that bad, but I did have a few moments of panic thinking I wasn't going to have everything ready.
  • It was a repeat meal of Campbell's meal on Thursday night-smashed potatoes, green beans, and potato chip chicken. I did have it all finished on time, and it was a great meal along with the Sonic drinks that the Wilsons brought for us.
  • We visited and then had Robby's peanut butter pie for our dessert. It was a good evening, and I actually don't think that I'm ready for the week. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow (just a check up), but to get my doctor it had to be in the middle of the day messing up our school schedule.

  • This morning was the first Upward football of the season. Of course, it was raining pretty good when my alarm went off. I wasn't sure if they were really having the games so I text someone just to make sure. It didn't matter to me since we were dry and cozy in the concession stand.
  • Keaton, Whitman, and I picked up Robby from the car place where he dropped off the van, and then we headed to Raymar. It was odd to go to Raymar without Anderson there.
  • We did the concession stand thing all morning long. It was a bit chilly, and not surprisingly I could barely keep up with the coffee making and pouring. Robby ran home to get the van when it was fixed, and all was well again with the Dennie fleet.
  • We stopped by Texas Roadhouse on the way home. Keaton always enjoys it, but this was the first time in a long time that Whitman went. He had mini hamburgers which he really liked. Then we headed home.
  • Robby and I were going to Costco for an errand when we came home, but he did some computering while I started my brief nap. We then did one more errand plus we stopped by Kroger to get our Sunday night groceries.
  • Then it was time for the football game-I enjoyed my nap very much during it. We had to leave before the game was over to take Campbell to a friend's house. While she was there Robby and I ran quite a few errands-Campbell kept writing us to come later so we would do another shop.
  • We eventually picked her up and made it home. I have a list of things to do today-and I have done none of them. I may try to mark off at least one before I go to bed because a nap is high on the list tomorrow!

September 5, 2025

  • Robby had his dgroup early this morning. I had thought about sleeping in, and I even changed my alarm this morning to ring again later. However, I still ended up getting up close to the usual time.
  • That was fine though because I was able to walk before it was too warm outside. I even came back for a bit, and then took Bentley on a walk-she did very well today. I only had to push her about 3 times to get her home.
  • Campbell helped me paint the dresser that they are moving into the girls' bedroom. They have a rickety bookshelf that we are replacing. It used to be red when it was in the kids' room when they were little. Before that, these drawers were Robby's nightstand.
  • Campbell and Graham went to work this afternoon. As soon as they left, Keaton and I went to Walmart to pick up some things for her birthday party next Saturday. We were able to find most of the things that we needed. Then we went to Aldi in hunt for one more thing. They didn't have it, but I enjoyed walking around that store.
  • We came home, and I went with Robby to pick up the car. The air had not been working plus the power steering was leaking so they fixed both of those things.
  • Since I dropped Robby off and made it home before him, I was already in the house when we came in. He text me for me to come outside, and I just knew that the air really wasn't working. However, he was just so proud of the cold air and proud that he didn't pay a ton of money.
  • Keaton and I then painted the dresser some more. Afterwards, Robby and I left to go to Little Rock to get the kids some supper. We stopped at a pizza place where I was the only one that was not a door dasher there. Then we grabbed a few more things at Costco before running by the house to drop off the food.
  • We left the house as soon as we got there and headed to Bryant. We ran a few errands there, and remember how proud Robby was of that fixed car. As we were driving to one place, the car started making a whirring crazy noise. I thought it was a car beside us, but nope, it was our car that just left the mechanics only hours before.
  • We made it to the restaurant that we were eating at with the Wilsons, but by the time that we made it, we were on pins and needles. We still enjoyed our meal, but after we ate, we headed back home as fast as we could.
  • We made it home fine, and after a few youtube videos we are sure that it is something with the power steering. Robby is going to drop it back off tomorrow so fingers crossed it is an easy fix.

  • Today was Campbell and Keaton's first real day of Mother's Day Out this year so of course we had to take their pictures. I made sure that they were awake this morning, but Whitman wanted me to wake him up too. I tried twice before school, but I was never able to get him out of bed until wit was time to start our work.
  • Whitman and I read this morning, and then I started working with Graham on a few things. With Campbell and Keaton gone on Thursdays, it is very quiet around here. I was able to get a few things accomplished while working with the boys. Whitman and I went on a walk this afternoon, and Graham was out running as well.
  • Robby brought the boys home lunch, and Whitman still had school work to do this afternoon-heck, he still has work that he has just saved for tomorrow. I struggle with maybe I'm giving him too much work or maybe he needs some meds-but he doesn't mind stringing his work out all day so I guess it's fine.
  • I went to pick up the girls, and when I was on my way Campbell text. They had gotten asked to babysit right after Mother's Day Out. I picked them u a snack and then dropped them off. They babysat for two hours and enjoyed it.
  • I'm trying to have the kids take turns cooking on Thursdays, and today was Campbell's day. Since they finished babysitting in time. we went to work on her meal-potato chip chicken, smashed potatoes, and green beans. It was all delicious. Campbell helped clean up, but Graham also really helped.
  • Now, Robby and I are sitting on the couch watching a documentary, and I'm thinking about having some ice cream.

  • Campbell and Graham were not sure if they had work this morning, but they received a text before they even woke up that they did have work. This motivated Graham who even went on his run before I even came in from my morning walk. Finding out that she had work had to opposite effect on Campbell-she stayed in bed longer than usual this morning.
  • We did the school thing today which wasn't too bad-actually, I think that Whitman is finishing one more thing right now. I offered for him to do it on Friday, but he is doing it now. Good for him being motivated.
  • Campbell and Graham left for work after lunch. Robby had extra pizza from some errands yesterday so that was everyone's lunch today except for Graham, who doesn't really like pepperoni. Robby even brought another one home this afternoon which Keaton and Whitman went to town on.
  • I walked again this afternoon and did some crocheting while helping Whitman with some of his school work. I was able to get Campbell and Keaton's work out for next week. That has always been one of my dreaded and loved chores-getting school ready for the next week.
  • Soon Campbell and Graham were home from work, and we all headed to church. Graham decided that he didn't want to go out and eat tonight after church so we all rode together. It has been awhile since we have all driven to church on a Wednesday night together.
  • When we came home, there were a few chores that get done, and of course I made some hot chocolate to end the evening.
  • I did briefly talk to Reagan tonight-she was at Wednesday night church. I talked to Anderson last night. He said that his classes are okay right now, but he thinks they will get harder soon. He also said that the food was not bad, but definitely not good; however, it was edible. He also said that he is "just having a good time" which made me super happy.

  • I sure didn't want to wake up this morning, and I was hoping that a sudden rainstorm came so I didn't have to walk, but instead it was a beautiful morning. I do enjoy my walk though I din't enjoy having to hurry back and scramble to get all of my house things finished before school starts.
  • Plus I feel guilty on my walk because most days when I get back to the driveway, Bentley is staring at me from the window. She then meets me at the back door when I come in. I usually finished the laundry, and then take her out to potty and get brushed. However, I feel like she may feel neglected when I don't take her on my morning walk.
  • Since she isn't awake when I leave the house in the mornings, I do try to take her on a little spin in the afternoons. Today, we just went 1/2 of a milk, but I think that is enough to make her happy because she slows down pretty quickly.
  • We did the school thing this morning, and it wasn't too bad getting back in the swing of things. Graham has an essay to start writing next week so that will add a bit of work for him and possibly for me, but other than that we all seem to be trucking along. Now, Campbell will have a few new things next week so I expect her to be mad at me for most of the week.
  • This afternoon I took Whitman and Graham to get their haircut. Whitman's had gotten pretty long, and Graham's had gotten pretty short-from his buzz cut. Even though it was short, he needed it to be shaped a bit since it seems to be growing quickly.
  • When we came back home, I helped Whitman finish up his school work while moving another set of drawers out of the school room closet. Reagan took a set of shelves from there, and now Keaton is taking some drawers to replace a rickety shelf in their bedroom. I'm doing all kinds of rearranging in that closet-unfortunately, I'm not throwing that much away.
  • I had class meeting tonight at On the Border-my food was good, but what Robby and I usually order is enough to split. However, what I ordered tonight was just a tiny bowl, so I was disappointed. The fellowship was good though.
  • Robby had some errands this afternoon and came home with some pizza for the kids' supper. When I came home, I played a quick game with Graham, Whitman, and Keaton. Now my goal is to work on 8 different crochet squares and do some laminating.

September 1, 2025-4 State Parks in a Day

(click for today's pictures)

Robby and I left the house before any of the kids woke up (well, since Reagan and Anderson had classes today at OBU, they were probably awake before we left). But the kids here were all sleeping soundly for a few more hours after we left.

Our first stop this morning was the Plantation Agriculture Museum State Park. There weren't many visitors at any of our park stops today, but this place did have a car with Alaska license plates. We walked around the little park, and then were on our way.

We didn't have to drive too far because also in Scott was the Plum Bayou Mounds Archaeological State Park. Robby and I remember going to this when we were in school-it was called Toltec Mounds then, but really nothing has changed. We walked a short trail in the middle of the mounds, and yep, it was just mounds in the middle of a field.

We had a bit of drive to our next stop which was the Louisiana Purchase State Park. This was my favorite stop (after I saw that the other car that was there contained a couple and not someone scary.) We walked along a boardwalk through a pretty swampy area until we made it to the monument recognizing where Lewis and Clark began their survey for the Louisiana Purchase.

Fun fact: Baseline Road in Little Rock originated from the surveying that happened during the Louisiana Purchase. If I had been Lewis or Clark or one of the surveyors, I would have been quick to say that the land is swampy and not anything that we want. I can't imagine trekking through the area that we were walking through-we were on a boardwalk, but they were not.

The final stop in our 4 State Parks in a Day tour was Delta Heritage Trail State Park. There was not much to see at this park, but it was interesting that it was a former train track that has now been converted to a 70+ mile biking/walking trail. If this trail had been in Northwest Arkansas it would have been packed, but being in eastern delta there was not much happening today on the trail.

Then we headed to meet Les and Grannymom. They came back from the beach today, so we drove Grannymom the last stretch home. We were able to hear about her trip on the way home, and we even stopped to pick up a pizza.

It didn't take long to get back to Little Rock. We dropped off Grannymom and then ran to the grocery store to pick up some fries and buns so we could make hamburgers for supper. Everyone seemed to like the burgers, and Graham definitely liked the ice cream that we brought home too.
