Christmas Ornament Countdown: 11 Days until Christmas
December 13, 2015-Happy Birthday Anderson!

Officially 9 Years Old!
- It was barely today (1:30) when Campbell came into our room telling me that her ear hurt. Makes sense, she does have a cold and is just getting over a pretty nasty cough. Before I realized it, she was laying beside me and we had run Robby out of bed. Campbell slept fine though and has never mentioned her ear again and could not even remember which ear hurt tonight. (Now, we will still probably end up with a doctor's appointment tomorrow.)
- The next thing that I remember was Graham coming into our room asking where the wisemen were. We have a set of wisemen that float around the house in December. They are hunting for Baby Jesus and end up places like on top of the ceiling fan or hanging from our Christmas cards (or nights when I am tired, they just end up sitting on a shelf or on top of the table). It is a no stress Elf of the Shelf since the kids know that I am the one that move them. Anyway, if the kids can not find them immediately they want to know where they are hidden-at 7:01 each morning.
- Then before I was out of bed, the birthday boy brought me a screwdriver and his remote control car so I could help put batteries in it. At that time, I realized that Reagan needed to be at church at 9 to practice her music for Sunday school so we started quickly moving around here.
- I threw the cinnamon rolls in the oven and soon we were again singing to the birthday boy. Everyone was already dressed and they played and Anderson worked on his legos some while Robby and I finished getting ready (and yes, he has already put together all of his new birthday legos.)
- We made it to church and sent Reagan into practice her song. And later during Sunday school when the leader usually asks the kids who have practiced with her to come up on stage, she did not. I guess that the leader didn't think that she had any kids in that hour or she just forgot. I was across the room and tried to motion for Reagan and encourage her to go up there and she just shook her head no. She wasn't going to go without being asked so our scurrying around was all for naught! Oh, well!
- Before church started and while we were seeing all of the grandparents, I was determined to not let go of Whitman and have a repeat of his running around the sanctuary. I was actually so determined to not let go of him that when I did briefly let go of his hand and he darted away, I nearly knocked Bro. Paul down-seriously. I did manage to grab the boy before having to crawl over Bro. Paul!
- After church, we again celebrated Anderson's birthday with one last candle at Grannymom's house. She had made his favorite-key lime pie and then since we had a left over game from the party yesterday, we played football bingo with the kids. Robby had even bought prizes for them and of course, this time not everyone would have a prize. This led to tears from Keaton who did not win...
- But my Campbell has become so tenderhearted and she tried her best to cheer Keaton on and help her win. Campbell even gave her some of her candy and Graham gave Keaton his MMs. Meanwhile, on the other side of the table, Anderson and Reagan were making sure that they had plenty of candy to give to Cash who also had not won. By the time the game was over, everyone had plenty of candy which they ate all afternoon long!
- The rainy afternoon was spent napping for some (Keaton, Whitman, Robby and me). We had intentions to go to church but opted to stay in tonight. I started on some painting in the garage with the girls and ran inside the house to get something. And after leaving simple instructions (do not touch the paint) to the girls, when I came back into the garage, Reagan had put paint on Keaton and Campbell's noses. So that didn't set well with me and Reagan went to bed-she had her supper upstairs and did get to come downstairs to brush her teeth. Gracious me!
- The rest of our evening was spent folding a mound of laundry and putting it away and then the boys (including Robby) played the xbox while the little girls and I played a game. Soon it was bedtime for the crew and I hope that Keaton goes to bed since she had such a good nap this afternoon!

- The girls were awake when the clock was still at 5 this morning but luckily for us, they were sleeping at Grannymom's house. And just to clarify, "the girls" that I am speaking of is Campbell and Keaton. I guess that I have taken to calling Campbell and Keaton as "the girls" and this has started to bother my big girl, Reagan. I am very much aware that she is a girl so I guess I probably should change my "the girls" to my "little girls."
- Anyways, back at our house we all slept for a bit longer than "the little girls" but as soon as the boy woke up they were ready to get started on this day. It didn't take too long for us to all get out of bed and after handing Whitman some cereal and milk, I quietly tiptoed out of the door to start helping Robby in the yard.
- We were able to rake the front yard and roll a pine tree (well, pieces of a pine tree) down the hill and into the woods. The boys helped us some (when asked) but Reagan stayed inside with Whitman. She kept him busy and happy so her not helping outside was fine with me.
- The weather did throw us a few times and even started sprinkling. But we pressed on and by lunch time the tailgate was set up outside, we were all showered and ready for the party. We were actually all outside just sitting down when Jason arrived first. Then our guests started pouring in-Grannymom, Grandpa, Lilli, Nonna, Pops, the Penningtons, the McFarlands, the Nelsons, the Powells, the Kamps, Dana and Cash. Seriously, we had a full house-or a few yard!
- This was Anderson's 9th birthday party and he chose to have a football tailgate party. We had a tailgate tent set up along with a few Razorback flags. The music from the Razorback band was playing and the Army/Navy football game was on. All of our footballs were aired up and the first thing that the kids did was start playing-they played on the swings, they played football, they played basketball and some even played in the dirt. We had a bingo game to play with everyone but it just seemed like they were all having so much fun playing that we didn't want to disturb them.
- Before we ate, we took a group picture and there were 18 kids there (Cash came a few minutes later-so 19 total kids). Robby had grilled hot dogs so we had those, sausage, chips and salsa, potato chips and football shaped pretzels. After eating, the kids all disappeared to go and play again.
- We did wrangle them back for dessert-football cakes which we devoured and then a few minutes later it was present time. One guess what Anderson got-legos! Plus a ping pong table set, books, a remote control car, puzzles and nerf gun bullets. The boy racked up and right before Christmas.
- Everyone stayed for a while and then when they left, Jason helped us pick up. Keaton left with the Kamps to go and look around at Toys R Us and the other Kamps kids stayed here and played. After Robby and I had finished cleaning up downstairs, we sat down and I said "would you believe that there are 7 kids here?" It was surprisingly quiet. and I did go to check and they were all happily playing.
- We had a quick bite to eat and finished our day of birthday celebrations at Krispy Kreme. We all sang to Anderson, who had asked us to sing quietly (we didn't!) Then we picked Keaton and ran a few errands on the way home.
- Once at home, it was again shower time but tonight we even had time for our Bible reading, time to talk about our Christmas ornament and time to countdown before Christmas.

- I knew that today would be a busy day so we just slept in! The kids were up on time but my Whitman, who has stopped getting out of bed by himself, also slept late.Robby and I did too. Robby was off today and it was a pretty perfect day.
- The kids worked on their school this morning and then we started on a few crafts-Whitman's craft was the most fun (marble painting). It was a pretty relaxed morning and I think that everyone enjoyed it.
- Before lunch I had really wanted to work on science but the kids all ended up outside playing basketball. I walked outside once to tell them that it was time to come in but they were playing so well we just ended up having a late lunch after we finally did our science.
- After lunch, the kids helped me clean and straighten the house. Then Robby loaded up everyone but Whitman. Campbell and Keaton went to Grannymom's house to spend the night over there. They were beyond excited about their night out of this house.
- The others helped Robby take Grannymom and Grandpa's Christmas card picture and then they went to try out a new pizza restaurant and even stopped to do some shopping.
- Back at this house, Whitman laid down for a nap but never had a nap-he called me upstairs time after time until I finally gave up and just let him get back up and watch his Thomas. I stayed busy and didn't set down until the others had almost arrived-Whitman and I did have a few minutes to snuggle on the couch.
- When they came home, Reagan ended up convincing Robby and I to help her make something for a gift and then we went upstairs to work on a scrapbook as the kids watched their movie. Then bedtime and my Reagan could not have been more excited about sleeping in a room all by herself.
