- Church morning here and there was little drama getting ready. Campbell did have to have a shower because she had used hair chalk to color her hair last night and Keaton did mildly fight me on her shoes but I managed to convince her that she would enjoy showing off her sandals that light up to her friends.
- The kids were a bit sad that Nonna and Pops were not in their pew this morning (not sure if they were sad because they missed them or because they missed their candy). Then they visited Grannymom and Grandpa and ate their candy up. The old lady who sits behind us again gave the kids full sized candy bars. I was proud of myself for matching her gift with a gift of my own-banana bread made by the Dennie girls for her and her old lady friend.
- Church was exciting today-they announced that the committee recommended Hughey as our next pastor. They crowd seemed to be very excited about that as were we. Campbell put her hands over her ears because the crowd reaction was so loud. We expect good times ahead for Geyer.
- Since Pops is out of commission and since Nonna fed us last Sunday in Grannymom's absence, we had to scrounge up a Sunday meal on our own and ended up at Dickey's BBQ. It was delicious and the kids were thrilled with ice cream-not just ice cream but free ice cream.
- Robby then dropped the big boys and I off at home and went to go pick up Reagan from Dana's house. He said that he drove slowly so maybe Whitman would fall asleep but of course he did not. However, I was able to fall asleep and had the most perfect afternoon nap ever!
- Robby did not since he had a meeting to go to at church. We were not too far behind him and met him just before the service started tonight. The kids were pleased that we let them play on the playground after church and then we all headed home for Sunday night ice cream truck-which I might just go and partake of right now!

Soccer Season Begins!
- Soccer day this morning and my boys were up early, early and could hardly wait to put on their jerseys. Keaton was just about as excited since this was her first time wearing a uniform. This morning went by quick but if Graham asked us once when we were going to leave and when everyone's games were, he asked us a zillion times. Robby said that the poor guy was going to have a tough life...unless he gets himself a watch and a calendar.
- We had our breakfast of champions (leftover day old doughnuts) and then headed out to the soccer fields. This week we had no 8:30 games but a game in 10 and then 3 games at 11:30. Robby was the most worried about his little kindergarten team with only 4 players there this week: our girls, one shorter than Keaton (who ended up being great) and one who laid in the grass (seriously) most of the time. But they still won the game! Campbell scored twice and my Keaton played hard too and even kicked the ball a few times.
- I bounced around watching the other 3 games and was able to see each Dennie play for 2 periods. Robby coached Graham's team and they won today. Graham almost scored a goal but the ref said that he touched the ball with his hands (I was standing right there but didn't see him touch it...but I could be a bit biased.) Anderson played a tough team and his team did lose but bless him, Grannymom said that he got hit in the head, stomach and pushed down during the first period. That is probably why he was pretty stand offish when I watched him the first time but by the time I saw him play again, he was running hard and dominating the field (well, kind of!) And finally my Reagan-she scored 4 of her team's 5 goals. And she told me that the other team only scored when she was off of the field...except for the time that the ball went right through her legs into their goal!
- They all had lots of fun and it was a beautiful day at Raymar. I even snapped a few pictures of our soccer players before we headed home. We grilled hot dogs and all ate on the patio before we spent the rest of the day outside. Robby and I worked in the yard but the kids played-Campbell is so happy now that the neighbor girl is getting to play over here and she is super friendly. Of course this does leave Keaton feeling a little bit left out. Cash came over and played outside too while Reagan went shopping with Lilli.
- Around 6, we called everyone in and started the shower process and whipped up supper since the Wilsons were coming over to eat. Spaghetti, bread and ooey gooey for dessert. The kids all played while we sat around and tried to talk over the noise from Whitman's kindle.
- I know that my kiddos will sleep well tonight (though the little girls are currently both in the same bed) but I really hope that they are not as red in the morning as they are right now. I sure thought about sunscreen today an even had it with me but I sure didn't use any-and I sure should have!

Purple Cow with Grannymom and Grandpa!
- When I came in last night, Robby said that the kids really wanted for me to go upstairs and hug them. Most nights that I get in after they have gone to bed, I do not even go upstairs because they are sound asleep and do not wake up at all when I tell them good night. But last night I did go upstairs and tell everyone good night and I even hugged a few that I thought were slightly awake.
- But this morning, when Anderson come downstairs he looked at me and said "you didn't hug us last night." I told him that indeed I did but he turned a walked away mumbling under his breath that no, I did not. And that just about sums up my day!
- Yesterday, since I was out and about most of the day, the kids did great on their school and even completed a page full of chores without any problems for Robby. Um, not so much for me. It wasn't a very pretty day around here at all. So I don't portray that all of the Dennie kids were difficult-Reagan did her work and helped greatly with the chores and Keaton and Whitman were fairly quiet today.
- We did finally muddle through the kids school-it was after lunch that they finally finished school. And once I mentioned that we were going to see Pops after our chores were finished, the kids did start working.
- The whole ride to the hospital, I gave instruction after instruction of proper behavior. My kids are very, very comfortable with Beebee's nursing home and really, a hospital feels like a nursing home and I didn't want for them to feel that level of comfort there as well. All of my instructions worked-the kids were silent walking down the hall and then they were perfect while visiting with Pops and Nonna.
- Pops was feeling very well and the kids were happy to see him and inspect all of the hospital room. We took them some banana bread-which we ended up eating most of. It took a long, long time for Whitman to wake up since he had fallen asleep in the car but once he did, he was all into the banana bread.
- When we left Pops and Nonna, we headed to Grannymom's house to drop off Reagan and to try out her new living room furniture. We stayed for a few minutes and then gave Reagan a hug and drove home.
- At home, the neighbor kids (the ones I like) were out playing and the girl and Campbell hit it off. They played outside and we all stayed outside for a long while. Then it was time for showers and pizza-I was starving. Then it was movie time. Tonights movie was the hockey movie Miracle. It was a long one and Keaton and I fell sound asleep-but I did wake up for the ending!
- Bedtime was next because tomorrow is the first soccer games for the Dennie kids! Cross your fingers that the day goes smoothly and that I am able to see some of all 3 of the games that I will be trying to watch at one time!

Let me see!
- A bit out of our routine today because Pops was getting a new knee! So I took Keaton to school while Robby stayed home with the kids and handled the schooling (or maybe he just kept them contained.) I had left a checklist and for the most part it was followed.
- Pops surgery was scheduled for early this morning but by the time I got there (9:00 AM), they had not taken him back. I stayed through the early afternoon fielding Beebee's calls and questions.
- Meanwhile, Robby reports everyone got all their schooling done before it was time to leave to pick up Keaton from school. Since we were out of milk, they also had to stop by the grocery store on the way home and managed to come home with a lot more than milk. (For some reason when Easter candy is on sell for 70% off, it means every child must buy their own bag.)
- By the time they got home, Grannymom and Grandpa were here to repair the front yard swing. (Glad to mark that off the big summer to do list). It was still working but the rope was beginning to fray and the kids were beginning to think they were going to bust their bottom if it broke. Repairing the swing meant scaling a 24-foot ladder for Robby and Grandpa. I made it home from visiting Pops as they were finishing up and the kids were catching frogs, lizards and bees. (Well, maybe they just watching the neighbor kid catch these critters.)
- I helped the girls with a craft project - painting a large brown box. Before we finished, everyone pitched in on the painting including Whitman.
- It had a day or two since the last shower for the kids, so as they trickled in they took showers and then began watching movies and Kindle time. By the time I got the kitchen back in order, it was time for me to leave again. I hadn't gotten to actually see Pops since he was till in recovery when I left so I headed back out there. (Surgery went well. Doctor said the knee was in pretty bad shape so the knee replacement should do wonders for Pops when he fully recovers.) After visiting with him for awhile, I headed to the Promenade for a big dinner out to celebrate April's 40th birthday with friends.
- Kids and Robby had planned to maybe eat out as well somewhere but Reagan convinced everyone they should just stay home eat and watch a movie. She loves her some movie nights. So Graham picked grilled cheese for supper and everyone must have been hungry because they gobbled them out.
- Movie selection tonight was back to the sports-themed vs. the sharking biting movies. Robby introduced the kids to the movie Hoosiers. Of course, the boys loved it but everyone else did as well. (Well, Whitman actually did bring Robby the milk jug and said he was ready for bed so off he went.) After the movie, it was bedtime for the rest of the group.

I'm HERE!
- This morning at 4, I heard Whitman's door open and saw his light on from under our door. I quickly got up and could hear him running down the hall. By the time I was in the hall he was running through the living room. I eventually caught up to him back in our closet as I shouted "Whitman stop" (can you believe that he actually did?) I don't know if he was a bit panicked that he didn't see us though I am pretty sure he knows to look for us in our bedroom or go upstairs to find everyone else. When I did catch up to him, he looked at me and said "I wake up with you."
- I sat with him in the floor of his room for a good while. Whenever I would say that it was bedtime, he would say, "not yet" and often he would add, "you happy?" to which, of course, my answer was yes! I finally got him back in bed with the help of some milk and we all went back to sleep.
- Now, I can't really blame Whitman's late night run around the house as the reason that I was up later today but I will say that I was up earlier today than I have been all week long. Probably the main reason we had to scramble this morning to get out of the house on time was because we had folded and put away a load of laundry, cleaned the pottys, emptied the dishwasher, straightened the boys room, changed Keaton's sheets, gotten ready and all eaten breakfast.
- Even though we left a bit late, we were still there in plenty of time-I have built in extra time on our Wednesday schedule for all of the times that we have forgotten someone shoes and had to turn back. The kids were very excited today because we were not going to Rock Creek after Bible study and were planning on heading to a park.
- But that excitement didn't last long because after thinking about the wind and then seeing the sprinkles, we had to break it to them that we were indeed going back to Rock Creek. As soon as we were there though the kids didn't mind at all and had a wonderful time playing. My Campbell did spot little Micheal put a toy in his mouth and beelined toward him, beating Candice, and had her fingers all up in his mouth getting the toy away from him-my little hero!
- After playtime, we headed to see Beebee. She was in a fine mood and everyone was happy with her bucket full of candy-it was so full today that we even left some for our next visit. Beebee was pleased that we filled up her bird feeder but her little birds have not been around too much lately (I personally think that it is because the neighboring window has a windmill think scaring the birds away.)
- This afternoon went by pretty quick but I did have time to eat my bagel that I had saved from last night-except it wasn't that great! We had our supper and then met Robby at the library so I could run in and pick up a few books. Then it was church time for the evening.
- Once at home, the kids all had a snack (they had to earn their tonight's snack at supper time-by eating their supper!) Thankfully, they all did finish their supper and were able to have a quick snack before bedtime-and so will I!

Racing winner!
- Graham and Anderson were the first up and in our room this morning but we all soon heard Whitman so that meant it was time for everyone to get up.
- Cinnamon toast and a few books to read before we said goodbye to Robby and Keaton. Keaton is always excited to get to Ms. Jennifer's class. (Or maybe she likes getting picked up by Grannymom or Nonna on school days.)
- School was fairly uneventful but the kids had a little extra motivation today - it was skating day! We finished up our school work, picked up a little, had lunch, made some cookies for Reagan's scnack tomorrow at Bible Study, played some more (Anderson has been busy much of the day building a marble track.)
- We soon loaded up and headed to Grannymom's to pick up Keaton and to drop off Whitman. We met the Kamps and Heltz for an afternoon of skating. The highlight was for Graham and he was won his age division for racing. The big prize - a piece of Airhead candy.
- We made it home just a few minutes before Robby got home from work. Kids showered, I started supper and then I got out of dodge... well, it was Bunko night (or eat out night at Panera) and I had a few extra minutes to stop by the store for some lite shopping for myself.
- Back home, the kids and Robby had a new meal (Pizza Pasta). Robby gave it a B+ (he wasn't crazy about the minuscule bell pepper I included. They then watched Soul Surfer (won't have to worry about the kids wanting to go to the beach for quite some time due to the shark scene) and scarfed down the extra Snickerdoodle cookies.

- I knew that we would all be a bit tired this morning but really, sleeping until 8 was probably a bit of poor judgement. We did all wake up in good moods so that is worth something. We ate our breakfast of cereal and fruit and then quickly started on our Monday's school work.
- It helped tremendously that the kids had all worked on their math on Friday so they had much less to do today. But still with "much less" everyone was still working on their school work after lunch. Everyone but Campbell-she disappeared at one point during the day and I just knew that she was not doing anything productive at all but when she returned she handed me all of her completed school work. And Graham finished one of his books that he works with me on so that was absolutely wonderful-one less thing for us to do each day!
- We did our work together and then it was time to start cleaning up the house-Whitman's puzzles were scattered around my bedroom, animal flash cards were strewn throughout the kitchen and pillows and blankets and pillows covered the floor of the living room. Other than that this place wasn't too bad. I have realized that when I have someone vacuuming the others really scurry around trying to pick up before the vacuum come into the room that they are working in.
- While I was on the treadmill this afternoon, the kids played some game with a ball. I heard them laughing and hollering as I started to run and worried that something or someone would get broken but surprisingly all was intact when I finished. Reagan came up once asking about when they could get their snack and then a bit later, Campbell came up saying that she had poured everyone's milk. I tell you, that child could be left alone with her siblings for a few days and take care of everything-if she could only drive, she could dress and feed Keaton and then take her to school each morning.
- I feed everyone supper and then it was off to soccer. Robby took the girls and I was right behind him with the boys. We dropped off Whitman and then I joined Robby's first team-he needed extra hands tonight with a few of his kiddos. After that practice, I took my girls to pick up Whitman and then home for showers. The boys were not far behind us and they also stopped by Nonna's house but to check on Pops' computer before coming home.
- Once at home, it was shower time and then bedtime. I am pretty sure that my kids are already sound asleep even after being in their beds for only 10 minutes!
