- The last two days it has been a little bit chilly on my morning walks with Bentley. I have probably moved a bit quicker than normal. Yesterday, I was trying to move quicker so I could avoid the neighbor's dog that follows me on my walk. Today, I was trying to move quicker than normal so I could get away from the neighbor's dog. It does make me a little bit crazy when the other dog joins us-I am a one dog woman.
- School today started out with working with the little 3. That is still my favorite part-even though I now realize that I will not be able to finish our history book this year. Oh, who knows it is still early. We are flying through our science book so that is a good thing.
- Soon the big 3 left for Comm Central for the day. Reagan had a mock trial that she enjoyed getting to participate in. Anderson said he was bored out of his mind in his class. And Graham has quite a bit of biology work to do over the next few days.
- September Subway Sandwich Count: 12 Robby picked one up for the boys to split when he picked them up from school today.
- On the way home, Robby dropped Anderson off at Raymar so he could paint the fields. He finished a bit earlier than we had anticipated so he had to wait a few minutes for Reagan to come and pick him up when her class was over. He didn't mind waiting for a bit thankfully.
- As soon as they made it home, I left with all of the girls to go back to the church house. This time we picked up some of Keaton's friends to celebrate her upcoming birthday. After filling the decorated van up with friends, we headed to the bowling alley.
- Campbell and Keaton had worked all day yesterday and today getting things ready for the party. The van was decorated including streamers, twirly things, balloons, and even a "Honk, it's my birthday" sign on the back of the van. Keaton even had games to play while we were driving (Bingo and Who Knows the Birthday Girl the Best) along with prizes.
- The girls all bowled. Reagan and Campbell did pretty decent. Reagan had one of the higher scores. Campbell had probably the best form. Keaton was one of the super low scorers the first game, but then she ended up winning the second game.
- After bowling, we headed back to the house where Robby had supper waiting on us (pasta and spaghetti sauce, green beans and corn). The girls ate and then opened presents.
- Once presents were opened, it was time to head to the last activity. Menchies! Keaton was so excited to do all of these birthday things. (And I was so excited that bowling and menchies have good deals on Tuesdays which is why this birthday party was on a Tuesday.)
- The girls certainly filled their cups up at Menchies. We had candles for Keaton to blow out which she might have been a bit embarrased about, but she did it anyway. When everyone had finished their ice cream, we starte dropping all of the girls off.
- While we had been eating ice cream, the boys were all at home getting some ice cream for themselves. Then we dropped off our girls and picked up Bentley to go to the Wilson's for a little bit of ice cream over there.
September 13, 2022-Happy 11th Birthday (Party) Keaton!
Septmeber 12, 2022-Happy 17th Birthday Reagan!
- Let's talk for a minute about me having a 17 year old. That seems a bit crazy for sure. And surprisingly, the 17 year old was one of the easiest to wake up this morning.
- I did have to work with the big 3 first. After we did that, I zoomed through some math work with Graham. Then there was more math work with Graham followed by math work with Anderson and Campbell. I did sit by Keaton while she checked half of her math for the week. And did I mention that I also helped Whitman do his math. It was a mathy kind of day for sure.
- Nonna came over for a few minutes this morning to drop off Reagan's birthday present. Reagan had been not so patiently waiting for this present-a water bottle. She had it washed and full of water before Nonna had even folded the tissue paper.
- Around 11, I had intended to start working with the three littles. However, I got a late start due to all of the math work. So we didn't start until about 11:20. Then I was only able to get through scicne and one other book before Reagan came in ready to go see Annie.
- Keaton was going to go with her, so that meant that our school time was cut short by a few minutes. That was fine though since I needed to get ready myself. Soon after they left, I also left for a funeral.
- I stayed and chatted for a good while afterwards, but when I did drive home, I found myself right by Subway. I called Robby to see if he needed one today so September Subway Sandwich Count: 11. We split a chicken bacon ranch which I thought was pretty good. However, it was nearly 4 and I had only had a cookie today.
- Reagan had work this afternoon where they were all waiting on her to sing Happy Birthday and eat cake. They had her a super nice cake-I am so thankful for where she works. Now I just need to get the rest of my people who are old enough to work a job as great as hers.
- As soon as she did come home from work, she left again to go out to eat steak with her friends. That left the rest of us with no reason to go out to eat since the birthday girl was already out to eat, so we just found some leftovers which was perfectly fine with me since I had just eaten that sandwich half.
- I have been a bit chilled all day since my walk this morning-am I going to have to start wearing pants on my walk? Maybe it will warm up a bit. Now I am covered up with my blanket with my book right beside me. I do have one more thing on my list for today, but we shall see if that happens. (It didn't!)
- When Reagan did come home from her night out (Texas Roadhouse) we had some cake and candles to finsih celebrating her birthday for the day.
September 11, 2022
- After my shower this morning, Robby asked how well I did waking up the kids. I told him that I knew that Reagan was awake, but I thought that was pretty much it. I had gone upstairs to wake everyone up, but that always doesn't work.
- For example, last Friday Anderson had asked me to wake him up. So I went up there and tried. 30 minutes later I woke him up again, and I did 2 more times after that. Later when he did come downstairs, he looked at me and said, "I thought you were going to wake me up." I had to calmly explaing that I tried-4 different times.
- Anyway, Robby then went up to make sure that people were stirring. He siad that everyone was awake. He also added that he didn't see Whitman, but he wasn't in his bed. A bit later we do discover that Whitman was still in his bed. Thankfully, we figured that out well before we had to leave.
- Our little class had a crowd again today. We are having double the amount of kids that we had last year. It is a good thing for sure, but it does make things a bit more crazy. Though this is kind of good because it does make the morning fly by for sure.
- Then at Grannymom's house we celebrated Reagan, Keaton and Robby's birthday. Reagan received some clothes for her present. Keaton got her long awaited Reeces peanut butter cup blanket which we bought as her birthday present early this summer. And Robby received a much needed wallet.
- We headed home afterwards-Robby and I napped, Keaton washed Bentley, the boys spent time on their devices, Campbell talked to friends and Reagan probably did school work.
- Soon it was time for people to go to their lifegroups. This was the first night of the new groups, and I think that they were pretty successful. The big 3 were together at one house and took cookies. Campbell was just down the road and brought pizza for her crew.
- The Wilsons came over this evening, and we marked a meal off of my list. We made the hash from Silver Dollar City-griddled potatoes, sweet potaoes, sausage, onions and peppers. We were pretty pleased with it. I really thought it was super yummy and hope that I am the one who gets the leftovers tomorrow!
- When everyone did leave, it was time for the weekend to be over. We straightened for a bit before heading to bed to start our Monday.
September 10, 2022
- This morning was an early morning-for Robby, Campbell and Graham who were heading to the football game in Fayetteville. They left the house at 6 so they were stirring well before that. I did get up briefly but figured that Robby had it all under control, so I let Bentley out and went back to the bed.
- They left, and I had about 20 more minutes in bed before I did get up and start getting ready for the morning. I did struggle a bit trying to figure out exactly who was here-Graham and Campell were gone, I knew that. I also knew that Keaton had spent the night at a friends, so it was just Anderson, Reagan and Whitman. However, that just seemed like too few people so I kept questions myself to double check that I was leaving anyone here.
- We zoomed on the Raymar at 7 this morning. Anderson went to work while Reagan, Whitman and I stayed in the car. I read some until it was time for us to get the concession stand ready. Reagan and Keaton helped and soon things were back in order after a summer of not being used.
- Anderson had to ref both football games today while Keaton and Reagan stayed busy in the concession stand for sure. There were quite a few folks there. Thankfully the rain held off. and the weather was decent so we did enjoy the morning.
- Well, Reagan and I weren't there exactly the whole morning. We did sneak off to Starbucks to buy a drink. She bought an iced coffee, I got a hot chocolate while we bought a strawberry drink for Keaton. Whitman didn't really care about a drink so he just grabbed his drink when he came home.
- September Subway Sandwich Count: 10. I had half of the sandwich today. I thought about giving my half to Anderson but he still had some ChickFIlA left. Reagan ate my other half so I do believe that most of Dennies have had a Subway so far.except for Whitman,
- When we came home, there was some basketball playing, cookie making, reading, quilt preparing, school working and lots of football watching.
- Meanwhile, the others cheered the Hogs on the victory. Robby and Campbell were sitting in the nose bleed section. This could be a bad thing, but they had a decent breeze which helped. After the game, they did stop and grilled hamburers on the way home.
- This evening has been mostly filled with people taking showers so we could get ready for tomorrow.
September 9, 2022
- This morning was fun for Whitman, well, actually this whole day has been fun for him. He started off the morning by going to the zoo with Eli and his family. Whitman said that he was most excited about seeing a parakeet. I'm not really sure if our zoo had parakeets; I forgot to ask.
- I think that he was pretty excited about getting take a packed lunch to the zoo. There aren't many times that a homeschool kiddo gets to take a packed lunch anywhere so it is always a treat. His favorite animal was most definily the goats. He said that they were so cute, and he even asked for a goat. I guess Robby would like it if we did get a goat since it might cut down on his lawnmowing.
- This evening Whitman was able to go with most of us over to see Owen. We all ate pizza there along with ice cream while the adults did some Disney planning. Actually, we chatted more than we Disney planned. The kids had a blast playing and watching some Disney ride videos. They had so much fun that Keaton spent the night.
- The rest of the day was filled as well. Graham, Keaton and I went to Nonna's house to do some ironing of Keaton's quilt. I am not so patiently waiting for the batting to arrive so we can get started on the thing. We ran to the library as well before coming home.
- September Subway Sandwich Count: 9. Cambpell was going to go with us to Nonna's house but she opted to stay home and wait on Robby to deliver her sandwich. I hear that I might get at least half of the sandwich tomorrow-we shall see though.
- There was some school that happened today, and Reagan even went to work as well. She is getting back in the groove of working. This was a slower Friday than usual around here. I even had a nap-which reminds me it is about time to lay down right now. The first bus pulls out at 6 in the morning and the second bus at 7.
September 8, 2022
- I barely heard my alarm this morning, but I still thought that I was getting up at my normal-ish time. However, when Robby said that I must be running late, I started moving faster. Keaton has me waking her up earlier so she can finish the school work that she has started the night before.
- This morning she had finished her school work, plus she had laid out Whitman's school work so he could see it all before most everyone else were down the stairs.
- I worked with the big kids first and then moved on to the littles. I did go with Robby to pick up Grahm from school. September Subway Sandwich Count: 8. Since Graham had been at school, he was the one who received the sandwich. Robby and he split it on our way home.
- Now, I will say that most everyone has had a sandwich turn. I think that Whitman, Reagan and I are the only ones who have not had their sandwich day so far. And yes, the people working at the Subway to know Robby and call him by name when he walks in the door.
- I worked with Whitman before Keaton, Cambpell and I worked on cleaning their bathroom cabinets. I am sure like most females-they had completely taken everything over. The boys had one drawer while the girls had 2 drawers plus the bottom part of all of the cabinets
- Now the boys don't need anymore than that one drawer really, but still there was a lot to clean out. I just scooped things onto the floor and let Campbell and Keaton go to town sorting things out. By the time I cleaned the mirror and counter, they had weeded things down quite a bit. I seriously love throwing things away-now, Robby likes me to throw things away, but he doesn't like for me to completely fill up the trash cans!
- This afternoon Campbell and I went to the pregnancy center. We weren't there long but we were able to bag a crazy amount of diapers and straighten some clothes before we headed home. When we made it home, Robby left with Anderson since he had something at Raymar for a little bit.
- Graham and I did a bit of baking. When we were finished, Keaton took over the kitchen to make tonight's supper-meatballs, mashed potatoes and edemame. It was delicious-and most importantly she earned a prize with tonight's meal. We had told her that if she cooks 5 meals independently she would get a game. Then we let grabbing the insides of a turkey count as two and making brownies soon counted for 1/3 of a meal so she did make it to the prize sooner than expected.
- Speaking of charts: If you remember Whitman had a "ma'am and sir" chart. He finished the first one earning himself an electric toothbrush. Now he is currently working on one to earn himself a bag of candy. And I think that it has worked-he says "ma'am" and "sir" much more frequently. Not like his big brothers yet, but he is getting there.
- After supper, we tried some of the Crunbl cookies that Robby brought home. Everything but the bagel cookie was definitly a different one, but one of my favorites.
- Now I am sitting down for a little bit to read. Tomorrow is our off day of school; however, I think that I might work harder on Fridays than any other day. So maybe I will take a nap!
September 7, 2022
- This waking up for school stuff is just tough; however, I do understand that it is necessary and most people around the world do it. Keaton did ask me to wake her up at 8 this morning so I quietly went up there to wake her up. She did get on up and started on what was left on her school work. I guess that you could say that she is a night owl, like me, since she likes to stay up late.
- I also like to stay up late-and last night I was busy looking at the entergy website. It shows you the amount of energy that you use each day and what exactly it cost. Like the oter day was a 13 dollar day-so today, I have been the light turn-er outer.
- Anyway, back to our school day. Things were very well today. We didn't see too much of Reagan, but she was busy getting her school work done. Where Reagan works they took off for the whole summer so today was the first day back for her so I am sure that she is a bit overwhelmed.
- September Subway Sandwich Count: 7-Keaton was the sandwich eater today. She chose chicken for her sandwich. I think that she enjoyed it and left half of it for her lunch tomorrow.
- I had my yearly doctor's appointment today which did take a good long time, but people were occupied at home. When I did come back home, I went to town on Whitman's clothes. His drawers and hanging clothse are all neat and replinished with some new clothes ready for winter.
- I took Graham to church this evening for his first Dgroup. While he was there, I ran to the library. They didn't have any money to give me this week, but I did leave with a basket of books. However, two of the books that I wanted haven't arrived yet-I am sure that they will be there tomorrow.
- Reagan went to practice tonight while Robby brought everyone else to church. When it was over, we all came home ready for supper. Robby heated up some chicken and most folks made chicken sandwiches.
- I am franctically working on the blog currently, so I will have some time to read before it was bedtime around here.
