- When I left you last night, most of us were in the camper watching football. We waited about as long as we could before going to bed since we figured that as soon as we all did get settled, then the power would come back on.
- Sometime during the later evening, Robby did plug the generator up for the fridges and freezer in the house. When it was eventually bedtime, Reagan, Anderson and Graham opted to stay in the house, so Robby also plugged up some fans for the boys who planned on sleeping in their bedroom. Reagan was going to stay in the bonus room like she has the past few nights.
- I think those three took the opportunity to stay up pretty late. I had told the boys that they could have ice cream, but then needed to brush their teeth and head to bed.
- They weren't the only ones partying though. Campbel, Keaton and Whitman in the camper stayed up at least until midnight becuase we were awake as well. Despite having to go to the bathroom three times last ngiht, I did sleep well.
- Robby did wake me up around 5 saying that the power was back on. He thought that it came on around 1 last night, so he did get up to turn off the generators, unplug/plug up things and turn off the lights that were left on. The boys were sleeping so soundly that they didn't even hear him come into their room and fix their fans.
- I didn't wake up as early as usual this morning, but that was fine since there was no laundry to fold or dishes to empty since there had been no power. I quickly started those things and worked on waking up the kids because school still started almost right on time this morning.
- We zoomed through our work together like usual. Then the kids started on their individual work. The three bigs headed to Comm Central for their classes. Reagan is there for a good while, but the boys just have one class so they were soon on their way back home with Robby.
- September Subway Sandwich Count: 6. Today Anderson and Graham flipped a coin to see who would get the sandwich. Robby did eat 1/2 of it, but Anderson was the flip off winner so he had the other half for his lunch.
- After school was finished today. There were two fairly big projects-reorganize all of the shoes in the house and then go through some boy clothes bins. I am embarrassed to say how many bins that we went through-no, the boys didn't help me-Keaton helped me. We did find lots of clothes for Whitman and even some to give away to our friends.
- Campbell, Keaton, Robby and I ran to Costco, Kroger and then back to Costco tonight. We needed a few things-9 blocks of cream cheese was the main reason. Plus at our second Costco run we picked up pizza for our supper tonight.
- After everyone ate, we all headed our seperate ways. Now, the big boys are outside playing basketball. They have been out there for a long while-that's good and all. But Graham has had one shower today and I am pretty sure that Anderson has had two. When they come in though, they will both head to the showers again. I am not worried a stitch about the water bill-it is the laundry that I dread!

September 5, 2022
- We slept as long as we could today, and then I did get up to start work on my list. I had a full list, but everything on it was fairly short items so I was able to knock out quite a bit pretty quickly.
- The boys were really the first ones awake. Anderson and Graham had a tiny bit of school to do this morning, but finished that fairly quickly.
- Robby started working on putting together his birthday griddle outside, and Campbell, Keaton, Reagan and I left for our Labor day outing. We met Sophia and Rylee with plans to get their ears pierced, and Keaton has been wanting her second holes so we agreed that she could get hers if she paid for half.
- Traci had checked and the lady was going to be there today, so we met on Cantrell...and the lady wasn't there. Ha! So we worked on plan B, C, D and all the rest. We called all of the other Merle Normans in the area and none of them had anyone.
- Then we started going through everywhere else we could think of. Eventually, we settled in Claires in the Promenade. First, we went to Three Fold for dumplings and noodles. Keaton and Reagan liked our noodle bowl and dumpling bowl. However, Campbell did not like either. She loves to cook but it was one of our most nonadventurous eaters.
- After eating, we headed to the store. On the way, Reagan mentioned that she didn't know where it was in the mall. Then we couldn't find it on our maps. So after driving through there and seeing that Claires was indeed closed, we then headed towards the Claires by church.
- By this time, it was pouring for sure. I didn't even know that it was supposed to rain, but it did make the day more eventful. This Claires was pretty full, but the lady was great that helped us.
- At one point, I thought about making a joke that it was her first day, and we later found out that IT WAS her first day. However, she works for Claires and goes where she is needed so it was just her first day at that location.
- The other girls wanted Keaton to go first so she did without a problem. (Campbell has no desire to get her second holes. She doesn't even like the way that it looks. Reagan is ready to get her third holes; however, she has to wait for soccer season to be over since she has to take her earrings out to play.)
- At one point, I wasn't too sure if the other girls were going to go through with getting theirs peirced, but everyone did. It was a fun day which the girls will remember for a while.
- We hurried home so Reagan could leave for her D group tonight. Then she met some friends at Chilis before walking around Target for a little bit.
- Our power went out during the storms this afternoon so it was a fairly dark evening. Campbelll, Keaton, Robby and I went to On the Border for supper. We couldn't convince the boys to come at all.
- September Subway Sandwich Count-5 We did though bring those boys back a sandwich for their supper. Whitman had some of our leftover tacos so everyone was well fed.
- Now you can only sit in the dark for so long, so we moved the party to the camper. We are using the mess out of that new generator. Not only did we turn on all of the lights, but we also turned on the ballgame to watch some this evening.
- It is now 9, and Reagan just made it home. We have been eating popcorn while watching tv. Keaton and Campbell are getting ahead on their tomorrow's school. Reagan didn't see any power trucks on her way home so who knows when the power will come back on.

- I have talked before about nothing being worse in the mornings than finding that the dishwasher hasn't been run. Today, we did top that by the clothes in the dryer not being dry. I think that when Robby put them in the dryer last night, he just pushed the last button which was just for 10 minutes instead of a whole drive.
- Robby did wake up at 5 this morning to work on our Disney dining reservations. He was able to snag us the two meals that we wanted. I told him to wake me up this morning, but I guess he figured I was more help when I was asleep so I slept through all of the texting and reservation making happening in the middle of the night with the Hobbs.
- We did church this morning, and then headed to Nonna and Pops' house for lunch. Robby, Campbell and I weren't able to stay too long becuase we had to take Cambpell to a birthday party in Cabot. She had been excited to go even though it was a bit far away-and she was also anxious to be able to make it back to church tonight.
- So while she was partying, Robby and I hung out in Cabot. There isn't a whole lot to do in Cabot-we went to Walmart (and for real this is the first time in a while that I can say that I am officially tired of Walmart-we couldn't even walk around in it for 45 minutes), then Starbucks and Dollar Tree. By then it was time to pick up Campbell and rush her to church.
- September Subway Sandwich count: 4-On our way home from dropping Campbell off at church, Robby did pick up a sandwich for himself for tomorrow. It is now in the fridge awating tomorrow's lunch.
- When we left Nonna's house, the rest of the kids stayed at Nonna and Pop's for a little bit longer. Then they came home for a lazy Sunday afternoon until Anderson and Graham left for church this evening.
- When we did make it back home finally, I worked on my list for a little bit before we went to the Wilson's house for supper. Everyone met back up there, and we stayed late watching some football while the kids were playing games. Once we came home, I ushered the kids to bed even though they can stay up late tonight since tomorrow is a holiday!
September 3, 2022
- We slept late this morning, but when Robby and I finally decided to wake up, we did move pretty quickly. Dog, dishes and laundry were all quickly done, and we were soon climbing into the car.
- There was gas for both cars then stops at Walmart and Sams. We didn't really need anything but loaded up anyways.
- September Subway Sandwich Count: 3. Anderson was the winner of the sandwich today in the family. His menu choice was chicken terriyaki.
- Robby ran to Dollar General on the way home and then to take care of one dog, while I ran by the house on the way home to pick up the little girls so we could go and take care of another set of dogs.
- Once at home, Keaton and I worked on the quilt a little bit. I also spent a good deal of time this morning watching videos about our next steps-I'm about to be a bit panicked about our next steps. Nah, not really worried, but we will figure it out.
- Then it was time for the Hogs to play some football-I did my best to take a nap and did snooze for a little bit. That didn't really help the score much, but maybe it was Keaton's brownies that she made that helped them pull out the win.
- Soon everyone was making their suppers-hoagie sandwiches. Then we all went our different ways-well, Reagan had left earlier to go skating and out to eat with her friends. The rest of us went to the movies which was certainly a happening place for sure tonight.
- Anderson and Graham went to see Jaws while the rest of us went to see Gigi and Nate. Our movie was good but a little bit slow while the boys said theirs was pretty violent.
- After the movie was over, it was time to come home and have everyone run through the showers. And now it is most certainly bedtime!
September 2, 2022
- I certainly enjoy my Fridays off-except that they don't seem to be truly off in any way. I was up at the same time and did all of my pre-school chores except walk Bentley. Robby had mentioned rain, but when looked I didn't see anything falling, but by the time I made it outside it was too late.
- I usually love the rain, but this change in my schedule didn't make me too happy. I still enjoyed the rain, and Bentley did get her walk around 1 today (and her second walk tonight after supper.)
- Before the people started stirring, I had repaired a pillow, pulled out school for everyone for next week and started on making breakfast burritos to freeze.
- Anderson and Graham were up around 9 while Whitman was the first one awake. They both had a bit of school work to check, plus there was one last paragraph to work on with Reagan.
- Keaton and I spent a long time today working on her quilt. We have all of the fabric pieces together. Tomorrow we shall possibly add a border before I figure out the next steps. Though I have to do some research tonight on a few questions I have, but so far it looks super cute and she is super happy.
- Keaton, Campbell and I did go through 9 bins of clothing today. Keaton, of course, found the most clothes. However, Campbell did find a few things. Reagan was still asleep when we did this, but I threw a few things in a pile that she might like. She picked one-so I call that a win.
- September Subway Sandwich count: 2-Robby took Campbell today to pick up a sandwich. She was super pleased with hers and as saved her other half for her lunch tomorrow. They also ran by the store and picked up a present for a birthday Sunday that she is going to.
- I picked out pictures for the month while Keaton made cookies. Soon I heated up the other half of the bag of orange chicken for our supper. Plus I pulled out our leftover rice, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, noodles and heated up some bread-it was quite the clean out the fridge night for sure
- Currently, I am letting bread rise because we are going to make cinnamon bread like Silver Dollar City-or at least we are going to try.
- Oh, last night it was past 10, and Robby, Bentley and I were in the living room. Then there were a few incredibly loud fireworks. At first I had assumed that it was tanerite, but later Robby was even able to see them on the doorbell camera from above the trees.
- It was so, so loud. Bentley had been laying near the kitchen but came to lay by me. After a few more minutes of this, she moved in front of me on my feet. After a few more minutes of this, Campbell came in and Robby suggested that she take Bentley to potty. It was time for her night time potty, plus we didn't know how long our firework friends were going to shoot them off.
- Campbell put a leash on that dog, and she sat down. She was not going to budge at all. It was pretty funny. It finally took Robby accompanying both Campbell and Bentley before she left the living room.
September 1, 2022
- Since this was the last day of school this week, I was all about telling Whitman that he could skip a few things. Of course my other people thought that me telling him that he could skip coding meant that they might be able to skip math or writing. Hmm, not the same at all.
- Graham and Reagan had their classes at Comm Central. Robby picked Graham up, and they ran to Subway. Robby snagged a Subway card for the month of February where he can buy a sandwhich for half off every single day. I will do my best to keep a Subway sandwiches in September count on the blog. (Subway Sandwiches in September: 1)
- A good bit of the aternoon was taken up with quilt work. Keaton, Campbell and I did 2 more rows on the quilt. Then later this evening while I was gone, Keaton finished sewing the rest of the rows by herself. So far we are progressing nicely on it-tomorrow shall be a bit quilt day. She was hoping for us to be finished by Disney, but we may be finished much sooner than that at this pace.
- This afternoon Anderson had to go to Raymar for a little bit, so Robby and I dropped him off-went to Goodwill to drop off 5 boxes of things (tiny house-here I come!), went to Walmart, Sonic and Kroger. We were doing some speed shopping by the end since he didn't have to be there long.
- On the way home, we picked up fried rice and noodles to go with our orange chicken. That was definitely a crowd pleaser for sure. Everyone was happy after that meal.
- Well, not everyone one-since Keaton had made a batch of cookies this afternoon for our evening snack, we didn't let Whitman have any ice cream. He was not pleased at all about this. I promised him that he could have some tomorrow-I am sure that he will ask me about it early in the day!
- Reagan was supposed to have her Dgroup tonight, but it was cancelled. I am super glad that they are still meeting even if they do cancell more than they go. Ha!
- This evening, I did run to Kroger with Shannon sinc she needed a few things. I did buy some bread since my goal this weekend is to make some Silver Dollar City imitation cinnamon bread. Once I came home, I had my evening cookies (I had already eaten my ice cream earlier today-shhh!)
- Whitman has already gone to bed since he found out that he can have his ipad in the bed tomorrow becuase it isn't a school day. This confused Graham who came downstairs to put his dishes in the dishwasher like it was bedtime. It was greatly relieved to find out that there was at least 40 minutes before bedtime!
August 31, 2022
- I used to think that Wednesdays were one of my favorite days becuase we are all here at home during the day. However, all of us being here does kind of make things a bit crazy. For example, the big boys just seem to lose their ever loving minds and have themselves a big old time during school.
- This is fine for them becuase they are able to finish their school work on their own. However, their little brother can not finish their school work on his own or can he undistract himself when he becomes distracted. I just want to know the big boys upside the head on Wednesdays, but other than that homeschooling is going just splendidly.
- There has been a lot of basketball playing these days. Plus the girls have been running on the treadmill every day as well. All of that along with the quilt making that has been happening, and we stay pretty busy in the afternoon.
- Robby, Cambpell, Keaton and I did run to the store for a little bit this afternoon. We bought a few things along with some candy for Halloween. We are already starting to stock up. And speaking of the store, why is it that I always forget things from the store or when we get home there are 5 things that we add to the list.
- Soon it was time for me to take the big boys to church for a football ref meeting. While they were there I ran to the library. As I was leaving, 2 librarians chased me to my car. Well, kind of. They said that I had left money in my library book. I am sure that I looked at them like they were crazy, but apparently it really was our 2 dollars. I told them that if someone asked for it, then I would return it. They were sure that it was from my book. I did ask Robby who did remember that he had been using those two dollars as his bookmarks. So not only did I leave the library with new books, I also left with some cash.
- Robby brought the other crew the church. He stayed with us-more kids tonight in my class than we have on Sunday mornings. It is crazy, but good. Reagan went to ChickFilA on the way home, but was home after just a bit.
- The rest of us took a while to work on our suppers-there were pizzas made, meatbals made, chicken strips made. It was quite a buffet this evening. All too soon, it was time for bed around here!
