- Campbell has proclaimed that Wednesdays are her favorite day of the week. My people love going to the church house on Wednesday nights so they looked forward to this evening all day long.
- School was not nearly as peaceful was yesterday's school was. You wouldn't think those big kids cause a lot of distractions during the day, but at 11:30 I was still trying to catch up from working with Anderson, Graham, and Reagan on little things.
- When Graham and Reagan left for work, things definitely calmed down. I did have to help Anderson with his math today, but I really didn't have to help him-I just sat there and watched him complete his questions. I wish every math day would be like today!
- This afternoon Robby and I ran a few errands with Keaton and Campbell in tow. Keaton had some birthday money to spend from Target so she went and found herself some blue jeans. Campbell found a cute shirt on the clearance rack at the store. And since her shirt was so cute, I ended up letting her get a pair of jeans (they were 30 percent off so that did help.)
- We were home long enough for me to work in the camper for a tiny bit. Then it was off to church. I took the first car load-well, actually Graham took the first car load. He drove us to Nonna's house where I had to drop off a pan. He was going to drive to the library too, but Anderson reminded him that the traffic was crazy now so I was the driver then.
- There were lots of kiddos at church which is a good thing, but it sure does make things crazy! After church Graham, Campbell, and Anderson went to ChickFila with their friends for a little bit. The rest of us came home and ate pizza an pasta.
- Currently, I am about to pick out pictures while we are watching Amazing Race.

October 3, 2023
- Tuesdays are the mornings that Graham and Reagan leave before 6:45 to go to Bible study. Last night they assured me that they would wake up on their own. I still set my alarm for just a few minutes before they were to leave to make sure. I awoke to a text from Reagan tell me that they were both up so I rolled over and went back to bed...
- Except I couldn't go back to sleep! So I was awake until my next alarm went off-this one was to make sure that Anderson was up and getting ready for his class. As I was walking up the stairs to wake him up, he walked out of his room-all my babies are growing up and becoming responsible.
- By this time, I didn't have any time to go back to bed, but I was able to mark off my morning chores before giving Campbell, Keaton, and Whitman there 15 minute wake up call. Tuesdays are really one of my favorite school days-that is probably bad to say since it is one of my favorite school days because the big 3 are gone, and things are just a little bit quieter.
- I was able to work in the camper this morning, plus Whitman and I finished his school before 11:45. I even worked on the girls' closet with Campbell for a few minutes all before noon-their closet cleaning has become a multi day process. I am not sure why things are so messy in there, but gracious!
- The boys stayed a school a little bit later today because they were playing football with some other people during lunch. When they came home, I ended up making them eggs in the hole and scrambled eggs for their lunch. Then Keaton, Whitman, Campbell and I headed to Defy.
- While we were there, I did a little bit of reading and a bit of school planning. They jumped for nearly an hour before we left to get our drinks from the gas station on the way home.
- Once we came back home, the boys had some science to do and Anderson had some math. Soon it was time for supper-Robby made pancakes and eggs in the hole. They boys have now eaten breakfast things for their last 3 meals!
- Tonight there was a game of pickleball. It is getting dark earlier, and I just struggle to see the ball at night-thankfully though I didn't get whacked in the face!
October 2, 2023
- I thought that it was rather bright when I woke up this morning, but I just assumed that it was still in the 6'o'clock hour and not yet 7. After a bit, I figured that I should at least look at my clock to see the time even though I knew that I had set my alarm clock. And dang it, if it was not almost 8.
- I guess when I set my alarm I set it for pm. Thankfully though, it was still a decent time when I did wake up, and I was able to get my morning do done before waking up the people.
- Reagan has a big essay coming up so she worked on that most of the morning. Then Anderson had quite a bit of math that I helped some with. This all put my behind so I was just finishing school work around 3 this afternoon.
- Reagan and Graham headed to work at their usual time this afternoon. Anderson still had some work to finish this afternoon as well-he was a bit determined to work on his history so he would win the game tomorrow in class. The game doesn't count for anything, but just bragging rights.
- Whitman was the last one to work with me this afternoon. He enjoyed taking a break, but by that time in the afternoon he is a little grumpy-maybe he still needs a nap! I know that I sure do.
- Robby spent a lot of time today working on installing a new dishwasher. This was not the Christmas present that I wanted for sure. We didn't even get anything fancy-it's just the same just newer. I told Robby that there are some appliances that I could get excited about, but a dishwasher is not one of them for sure.
- Tonight Reagan went to Bible study at Rock Creek while the rest of us went to the Wilson's house to eat supper. They had been camping and had quite a bit of leftovers and needed some help. Of course we were happy to help them out.
- I am so tired that I can hardly keep my eyes open so as soon as Keaton is finished in the kitchen, we will start sending these people to bed.
October 1, 2023
- Reagan rolled in at 1:30 this morning. She had driven to a friend's house so she had to drive home from there so that is why I also stayed awake. When she made it home, we stood in the kitchen and whispered about her evening.
- I went to sleep late waiting on Reagan, and then Bentley didn't sleep great either so it was a struggle to wake up this morning. The 24 first graders did help wake me up though. After we finished teaching Sunday school, we went to church. Most everyone was upstairs today except for Robby, Whitman, and I. Actually, I am not sure where the big boys were.
- The soccer girls, Whitman who was sitting with us, and Keaton who was going to the game left church early so we could get to Nonna's house and have time to eat. Pops had grilled hamburgers which were delicious. After we ate, we celebrated Jason's birthday with cake and presents.
- We actually didn't see Jason open his presents because we left with the girls for soccer in White Hall. Keaton also came along to watch. This game wasn't a good as last nights game-the girls just seemed to be a little bit off. Maybe they were exhausted! They only lost by 1 point and were so close to scoring at the last little bit. Campbell and Reagan both played super well.
- We hurried home so Reagan could shower and then get to Rock Creek for the U where the big boys were. Campbell also had to hurry and change because she was headed to a friend's house.
- After most everyone made it in tonight, they all grabbed their supper. The big boys had chicken sandwiches. Whitman had eaten while I was gone so I don't know what he ate. Keaton had leftover orange chicken which she seems to eat every single day. Reagan had chips and cheese dip along with some pasta.
- While Anderson's meal was cooking, I helped him do some math. He has about 40 problems to do tomorrow, but hopefully they will be easier than the ones. I then had to leave to pick up Campbell.
- She had been at a friend's house with a group of other people. They had dessert, and spent a lot of time outside playing kill ball. This game involves people sitting in a group in the middle of a circle with the people on the outside slamming the ball towards the people in the middle. My first question was "what about your glasses?" Thankfully, a mom there encouraged her to take them off!
- When we made it home, I made Campbell and me egg in the hole for our supper. Then I worked with Reagan on her essay. It is complicated, and she is a bit stressed! I actually thought that she was going to work on is some more tonight, but instead she is applying for colleges. There are a lot more questions on a college application than we realized. I've had to wake Robby up to ask him something, and had to text Pops for him to answer a question too. Maybe her essay would have been easier tonight.
September 30, 2023
- This morning started with me going upstairs to make sure that Anderson, Campbell, and Keaton were awake. Usually the girls are the ones that are awake, and Anderson is not, but today it was opposite.
- They left for Raymar at 7:10 or a bit before; then Robby and I left a little bit after 8. Graham, Reagan, and Whitman were all sound asleep. Campbell and Keaton had to help Anderson set everything up this morning since he was the only one there working. I think that they were a decent help since he was set up in plenty of time.
- We stayed busy with the concession stand this morning. When the games were over, we headed home to watch the end of the Hogs game. I usually sleep during the games helping them to win, but apparently that didn't work today.
- After the game was over, Anderson and I worked on some math. Everyone had some school work to do this weekend-Whitman and Graham are the only ones who have done all of theirs so far. Everyone did work some tonight on school work. I'm not really sure when the rest will be done, but there is always next week.
- Around 4, we left with Campbell for her soccer game. It was in Conway, and thankfully the weather was super pleasant especially since most of the game was played after dark. Last week they didn't do that great, but this week the score was 7-1. They scored 6 in the first half, so the second half was kind of slow!
- Afterwards, we ate at Tacos for Life-Robby told Campbell that we wouldn't have eaten out if they had lost, but I think we might still have eaten out. Then Robby had a 2 dollar gift card to Krispy Kreme so we went there and spent 30 dollars. The kids were excited to see the boxes of Krispy Kreme when we came home, but the doughnuts are sure a lot smaller than we remember.
- Reagan left a little bit after we did to go to Ouachita to see Tiger Tunes. It is 10:30 now, and I don't expect her home for a good while. She has been busy texting, but I asked if she was enjoying the show, and she said that she was.
- Robby is picking up the dog toys which means that it is time for bed. Whitman is having a wild streak-he is making crazy sounds and being a bit too loud for the time that it is. Campbell just finished her shower, and the big boys are playing on their xboxes-they are actually as loud as Whitman is right now!
September 29, 2023-Mostly Camping on the Beach
After driving about 5 hours last night and stopping in Magee, Mississippi, we only had to drive about 5 more hours this morning. Around 7, Robby drove over to the gas station to fill up, and then we hit the road.
It was a fairly quite drive. Robby and I listened to a podcast most of the time. At one point someone was talking about a phone call, and we heard a beeping sound. We assumed it was on the radio. It happened again at just the right time. Then it happened at not the right time. By this time the beeping had woken up Keaton.
I grabbed my flashlight since it was still so dark back there and started looking. It was the carbon monoxide/propane monitor. That didn't make me feel good-now, there was a blanket nearby which could have been hanging over it, but we weren't sure.
I hit the reset button while watching Keaton and Bentley closely and while getting a bit paranoid about how I felt. We had this happen in Disney when Whitman was hiding in front of the monitor, and Robby looked up the info on the web and knew that it would reset in 9 or so minutes. I was glad to see the clock go by those 9 minutes without another alarm.
Upon further research, the beeps could be because there was a gas leak (worst scenario), the battery was dying (it doesn't have a battery), or it could be getting old. Seven years is the lifespan that Robby found which means that it is about time for a new one.
Speaking of lifespans-we pulled in the driveway, and Robby went in to work on the dishwasher. Earlier in the week, Anderson said that it wasn't draining. Robby hoped that it was just clogged which is does occasionally get, and he has to clean the filter.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case today. He believes that the pump is out so that means a new dishwasher is coming on Monday. That's fun-not really, it is nothing but fun. While Robby dealt with that and caught up on work, I emptied and cleaned that camper. I would empty a section and then clean it-it really isn't that big so each section that I would do was tiny.
Anderson and Graham spent the day at Grannymom and Grandpa's house working on her flowerbeds. They hauled quite a bit of rock-it must have been quite a bit because they worked the whole day long. Reagan went to work without Graham because he stayed to keep working.
After I finished with the camper, the rest of our day has been kind of slow. We have eaten supper, most people have showered, and most people have spent some time in the living room. I finished my book, and now am going to watch a little bit of tv before we all go to bed-tomorrow starts early!
September 28, 2023-Mostly Camping on the Beach
This was sunrise morning for me! Keaton had gone earlier in the week to see the sunrise when she spend the night with Rylee, but Campbell wanted to go as well. So this morning, Campbell, Keaton, Sophia, and I all went to see the sunrise.
It was a beautiful sunrise, but we didn't see the sun or see it rise. The sky was so incredibly cloudy, but it was still a fun little outing. When I came back to the camper after seeing the sun not rise, I went back to sleep for a little bit. Campbell did as well.
Keaton and Sophia watched some tv and then played a game for a bit. This morning before going to the beach, we went to Goodwill. In July we stopped at this Goodwill and were pretty impressed. Today only Keaton found a shirt, but our next stop was Simply Southern where all the girls found a shirt.
Then it was to the beach for us. Whitman was so excited to go out with the boogie board, so we were all disappointed to see the purple flags. There was no one in the water anywhere despite there being so many people on the beach.
The flags definitely should have been purple today because jellyfish were everywhere. The kids spent most of the time on the beach looking at and catching jellyfish. Some of these jellyfish they would even pick up-so I am not really sure anymore if jellyfish sting or if just these don't sting.
Now, Whitman had no interest in catching jellyfish. That boy knows enough to stay far away from those sea creatures. When we went back for lunch, Whitman opted to just take his shower and call his beach time done.
The rest of us had a fairly decent afternoon break-long enough for Keaton to start getting bored. All of her friends were eating out or shopping. Robby and I eventually went to the beach and joined Campbell who was just sitting watching the waves.
We were there for about 2 more hours before we headed back to the camper. Before leaving the crew on the beach, we said our goodbyes to everyone. The girls then took their showers, and by 7:20 we had the car loaded and pulled out.
The original plan was to head home tomorrow early in the morning, but after the Fergusons left the night before just to get a few hours of driving behind them, Robby decided that would be a good idea. In about 2 hours, we stopped at Buccees-we all had sandwiches from there except for Whitman who had already eaten a poptart. He didn't even want a drink!-I think that he is super tired!
We drove have 1 more hour to drive tonight and have already driven 4 hours so that will definitely help tomorrow Keaton is already asleep, and I think that Campbell is almost asleep as well.
