Dennie Kids: December 3, 2010

Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)

  • Everyone slept in this morning since they were so exhausted from the circus.  Reagan was so tired this morning that she had a major meltdown because Mom wrote the word “fix” instead of “brush” on her “getting ready list.”  She screamed, wailed and flailed herself around for awhile.  At one point, she screamed “Mom can’t you hear me?  Aren’t you listening?”  Mom was standing nearby brushing her teeth while humming.
  • The highlight of the morning was getting our fingernails clipped and reading a few library books before heading to the library.
  • Mom didn’t take any library pictures but everyone was very interested in today’s activities.  The librarian was great-they found chicks, sang songs, listened to her play the guitar and shook shakers, played with scarves, did an activity with the flannel board and even glued a picture.  They had a blast-Campbell was even fairly interested in everything (as interested as a 1 year old can be)
  • Mom calling Dad and telling she was on her way.  We all ended up at Pizza Cafe for cheese bread, pizza and sandwiches.  After dropping Dad back off at work, we came home.  Campbell was exhausted and fell asleep on the way home.  So after milk and a story it was time for everyone else to go to bed
  • Playing outside-at one point all 4 Dennie kids were swinging away.  Then the boys moved on to pouring dirt down the slide-what a mess.  Graham fell off the tricycle while trying to climb onto the roof of his playhouse.  He said he was going to be Santa!
  • Helping Mom and Dad put up the Christmas tree.  We helped some but then decided that we just wanted to play.  Campbell stayed in her highchair and ate/squished peas while she watched.
  • A stop at Orange Leaf for the kids and then a stop at Chick-fil-a for Mom and Dad.  Then we drove around and looked at a few Christmas lights before coming home and doing the bedtime routine.  It was Anderson’s turn to pull down our piece of Santa’s chimney and he was so excited about it.
