  • Just a few minutes ago, Robby wondered aloud about why we are always pretty late on the night before a trip. It does always seem to be the case. It is possibly because we seem to be always pretty crazy busy right before a trip and today was no exception.
  • We woke up in time for us to do our last day of working together before the trip. The kids were actually beyond excited when I would open a book and then shut it since I didn't want to start a new chapter and not be able to finish it.
  • Kid Cleaning Session Number 3 happened after we read. By this point, there really wasn't a whole lot to do. I did quickly realize that one of my children is completely clueless when it comes to cleaning. Later, I spotted something that he had "done" and made him (yes, it is a him, but probably not to the one you would have guessed) come and watch me do it right. I tried to explain that working a bit harder at first truly does save you time in the end. But I could see my words going in one ear and out the other.
  • The kids did have a bit of downtime while I cleaned out the fridge. It looks incredibly sad in my fridge right now. It wasn't very well stocked to begin with but after I threw away all of the leftovers, it is just pitiful. All of the fridge is filled with water bottle and condiments. It is sad enough that if someone saw it, they might start a donation fund!
  • We then loaded up to drive to Candice's house for our homeschool day. She graciously volunteered to have it at her house since we are leaving tomorrow. I quickly took her up on the offer even though she was having a birthday party tonight so her day was pretty crazy too.
  • We didn't have any formal plans so the kids enjoyed the opportunity to just play all morning long. It was a bit muddy outside but they managed and had a blast. My crew wasn't too excited about leaving but we still have plenty of things to do at home.
  • I worked on the kitchen this afternoon-it is ready for Thanksgiving right now. I even had time to read to Whitman. He will put down his ipad quickly for very little, but when I mention me reading to him, he immediately shuts it off.
  • I ran to vote this afternoon. Keaton and Campbell rode with me and we met Robby there. After voting, we ran back home. I snoozed on the couch for a few minutes, and soon we headed back to Candice's house for Charlotte's birthday.
  • It was a weenie roast and s'mores making party. The kids really enjoyed it, but so did we. It was a lot of fun. The kids again enjoyed running around in the dark. Keaton would have gotten to spend the night if we weren't leaving so early in the morning. She did however, get to stay until almost 10:30. Candice brought her home right after Robby had returned from buying ice down the road.
  • Robby finished mopping the kitchen floor as I was putting away the vacuum from vacumming the floors. We have done 2 loads of laundry tonight and have 2 more going right now. After, I finish my Halloween candy, it will be bedtime for me!
