Quick trip to the zoo!

  • Reagan was at Robby's side of the bed around 1 last night.  And a second later, Campbell came in and asked why Reagan was out of bed.  Reagan had pulled her tooth and came down to tell us.  And Campbell just wanted to know what was going on.  Robby found Reagan a bag for her tooth and told her that he didn't know where the tooth fairy pillow was. So tonight the tooth fairy will deliver something-if Reagan my lightest sleeper stays asleep long enough for the fairy to arrive.
  • They all went back to bed and not too much longer, Campbell joined us.  Since her sheets were still wet last night, she happily slept in the crib.  I would have thought that she would have slept better in it but that was not the case.  But she did sleep well between Robby and me.
  • We had our breakfast and then started our Monday morning-reading, vacuuming, laundry, legos.  Sometime pretty early, Graham went off to find Robby and came back saying that Robby was working from home today.  I wasn't quite sure he was correct so had to find out for myself.  Indeed, he did work from home and even suggested that we take a long lunch and go to the zoo.
  • The kids were pretty happy to go to the zoo.  We didn't see all of the animals but hit the highlights-fish feeding (Graham), penguins (me), cheetahs (Reagan), reptile house (Anderson), elephants (Keaton) and the "zebras" (which are really the giraffes, Campbell).  We even had time to play on the playground before we headed back to the front.
  • Back at home, Keaton had a nap while the others watched a movie.  Robby introduced a "adult talk" time similar to the "adult swim" time at the pool.  Campbell did not like having to be quiet and leave my side during "adult talk" time today.   I probably should start setting a timer for 50 minutes past the hour so I can be quiet for a few minutes during the day!
  • I woke Keaton up and soon we were working on those legos again. I am trying to help Anderson reconstruct one of his sets that we had done in the past.  He has no attention span and can not find the pieces that are next in the instructions-he will pick up one piece and just start building something else.  So I have to find the next pieces and give them to him.
  • About 4:45, everyone headed outside and the weather was beautiful.  They rode their bikes, played in the dirt, enjoyed swinging and we even played a pretty good game of soccer.  We all stayed outside until it started sprinkling and then started on showers.
  • It was well after 7 when everyone ate and then bed for all....can't forget that tooth upstairs!
