January 1, 2013-Happy New Years!

  • Well, I guess I left off last night as we were watching Scooby Doo.  We watched a few of those and then started Home Alone 3.  Around 10, Campbell fell asleep but Graham stuck it out until 11.  After Home Alone 3, Robby turned on Free Willy 2 and then we started to snooze.
  • We woke up around 1:30 or 2 with Anderson jumping up and down like a mad man.  It was near the end of the movie and was pretty scary so he was in a panic.  Seriously, thought he was going to wet himself.  We were up to the end of the movie then Reagan turned to us and said "so what are we watching next?"  Those two could have really stayed up all night but Robby suggested that they rest for a few minutes.
  • No one stirred until 8:45 and with the blanket over the window it was still crazy dark in the room.  Robby said that we needed to watch a few more movies until it was morning (so they would really think they had been up all night) so Scooby Doo was turned back on.  It worked because everyone was pleased with staying up so late and we were pleased because we slept so late!
  • At 9, I had to wake Keaton up.  She was still sleeping soundly-she must enjoy us all sleeping far away from her in the bonus room.  The kids couldn't understand why we were not going to eat breakfast upstairs.  I had to convince them that breakfast was only being served in the kitchen for the next few days.
  • After they finished eating, the kids all migrated to the toy room.  Robby and I started working on the living room.  Putting it back in order after the outage and Christmas decorations.  We took down the tree Christmas night and had to pick the fallen needles up with tape since we couldn't use the vacuum. So one thing Robby did this morning was vacuum and that is when Graham came downstairs to ask who was coming over.
  • We had to move pretty quick to make it to Grannymom's house for lunch but we made it in plenty of time so not miss hog jowl and black eyed peas.  The kids all must have been starving because they devoured all of Grannymom's "bacon" and Keaton couldn't get enough black eyed peas.  Afterwards, Anderson was thrilled that Grannymom had made one of his favorite desserts-lemon pie.  Key lime is his favorite but he will gladly take anything close.  Actually, my boy will gladly eat any dessert at all.
  • Back at home, Keaton took a nap and the rest of the kids watched a movie.  The boys were cuddled up together under a blanket, Reagan was sitting on the ottoman and Campbell was laying on the couch.  After a few minutes of the movie, Campbell was sleeping sound.  Meanwhile, Robby and I worked on bringing the bonus room back to normal.  Last January, I took pictures of every room to document how the house looks, I should have done that today when I had a few clean rooms!
  • After the movie, the kids started playing in the toy room until Kennedy came over for a bit.  They all played upstairs until supper.  During supper we worked on cleaning out the fridge and then the kids played some more.  Soon we started watching a movie (Beethoven 2 or 3-apparently all of the movies we have watched lately have been sequels.)
  • The kids were pretty wired during the movie but I thought it was pretty interesting.  Keaton enjoyed sitting in her lawnchair.  And when Campbell would sit it in, Keaton would growl and then stare at us waiting on Robby or I to do something.  Man, I can't imagine what 3 girls fighting will be like-but I better start because those days are fast approaching.
  • Next up is bedtime for the kids.  Graham is super excited about going to bed tonight because Robby hung up his sticker picture that he made from Christmas.  Graham had first asked if Grandpa could come over tomorrow and hang it up.  Robby was able to do it so Graham was thrilled.
  • After bedtime for the kids, Robby and I are going to start our New Years party complete with a cheese ball and sausage.  I love New Years day!
